9/28/2025 Bills vs Saints post game thread
Rochesterfan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is just stupid. Since 2020 the Bills have been in the top 5 for margin of victory every year - winning games by an average of greater than a TD. They have won the more games than every team, but 1 in that span. If they consistently played down to their competition- they wouldn’t be winning by an average of over 10 points per game and be 4-0. Teams that play down to their competition- they lose the Miami game (see the Chargers this week). When the Bills play their game - you may not like it, but they dominate the opponent and typically win by more than 1 score - just like this week. Are they perfect - No, but they are still a top team that has won and crushed lesser competition for years now. -
We had 12 man on the field earlier when Bosa couldn't get off the field quickly. We were docked 5 yards for that. The TO was taken because we only had 10 people on the field and the Saints had Big Men on the field by putting more TEs.

The suspensions for Hoecht and Ogunjobie are ending in two weeks after which the Bills can get them back in the 53-man roster. McDermott needs to find spots for them on the 53 man roster. With Samuel now healthy, coach is trying to see if he can replace Codrington on kickoff returns and use others for punt returns. If this situation works, Codrington will be gone and the Bills will be able to make a decision on replacing Codrington with Hoecht or Ogunjobie. The 2nd guy who may be on the chopping block will be Solomon unless the Bills can trade Epeneza and his $6M salary (cap relief) -
This offense has scored on their first possession in all four games this season. This defense needs to get better. I believe they will. I do believe McD used the perceived weakness of the Saints as an opportunity to see where they were with Samuel, and how useful he might be going forward. And I wonder what their conclusions are? I don't see Samuel as a better returner than Codrington. The Saints have (apparently) been abysmal on special teams. As a one-game sample, it's hard to read too far into his numbers. And i'm not sure he offers anything more than Moore does as a WR. He had a nice third down conversion, and a third down miss. But McD/Beane may feel differently. I thought Van Demark played admirably, and was fine in pass pro. I have faith in the depth of the O-line, but against a better defense, I think Brown would have been sorely missed, especially in the run game. Ty Johnson had an incredible '24 season. He made incredible plays every game, especially receiving. What happened? Why has his production fallen so far off? Cole Bishop is really developing into a quality starter. He's gotten better each game-- and I don't think it's just that we played a weaker opponent. I also continue to have faith in Rapp, recent struggles notwithstanding. I think they have the potential to develop into a special duo. TJ Sanders looked decent. But to my eyes, Deone Walker looked better. GO BILLS!

As a franchise, i think we should lose our first four Super Bowls. That makes winning our fifth a near certainty.

Did someone spike your drink? Were you exposed to too much lead paint maybe? I can't make any sense of why someone would even think of something like this.

Haven't really seen much Pats football this year. I did see some scary punt returns in the highlights today. Maye seems like a legit QB. Vrabel is a damn good head coach IMO. He will have that team playing physical football.

My random notes (I like this thread!): Samuel in for Codrington: I like it, even if Samuel is not quite as good a returner, because it gives us a WR who can play rather than a DB who doesn't. Cook accelerates like an electric car Jimbo is actually a better short yardage back than Ray or Ty Josh getting more angry when the Bills don't play well is a great sign, he's a true mature leader now in addition to the great dude he always has been On the fourth and 1: Brady got cute, running a play with a WR running sideways to the penetrating D line. Put in an FB, 2 tight ends and 6 OL and let Cook find a yard or two.

In the second half? They basically had to use them to try and get a three and out without too much clock running because they were down two scores. It was an intentional use of timeouts, not some sort of sloppy use of them.

Landon should be getting defensive reps ahead of Solomon since Solomon hasn’t shown anything, but I know he plays STs as well so he keeps getting a jersey. McD said a couple weeks ago Landon was close to playing, so it was a surprise he wasn’t up for this game.

Here's what's on my mind: I never noticed that Cook has COOK III on the back of his jersey. Maybe it's new, or maybe it's just because his hair obscures the name plate. But we all know that James has an older brother, Dalvin, and it turns out that there's an even older brother. So if James was the third son, how did he get the Dad's name?

Sometimes a timeout is worth more than 5 yards - this is one aspect that analytics or coaches do NOT consider When there is a potential delay of game, QB's frequently call time out. Is that there much of a difference between e.g. a 2nd and 3 and a 2nd and 8 to waste a timeout that can be game altering at the end

Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract
Alphadawg7 replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Actually, that is exactly why they should be worried. $47m in cap space gone. Pro Bowl DT gone. 2 First Round picks gone. For a guy so easily neutralized and now they lack cap space, premium draft picks, and created a hole on the interior making it even harder for them to put people on the filed that can take advantage of the double teams Parsons sees. -
I thought they said we had 12 on the field for TO #1

I wasn't able to watch the game but in the GDT the consensus was there were some weak calls ..11 called against the Bills. I don't like that -

Game week thread - Pats at Bills SNF

Pats lost to the Raiders, barely beat the Fins, lost to the Steelers and crushed the Panthers. They are middle of the pack and even with us missing a bunch of guys on defense, we should handle them easily as long as we play more consistent than today. -

I’m here too. Feels like they have overtime right. Though, to be honest, I’d be fine with a straight ten minute period, not sudden death, and a tie once that is over. Ties really don’t bother me.
