  2. I see that I'm in the super minority via the poll but I don't want to miss the playoffs and I don't want Beane gone. I think McDermott is the burnout... It's his defense that has let us down repeatedly. He's had the luxury of passing the blame to whichever coordinator he assigned to run this supposedly complex scheme that isn't effective at all. He should've been taken over the play calling on that side of the ball if nobody else has run it correctly. It's literally what has held us back from championship contention. A boatload of resources have been invested into it and it has yet to yield any significant results in which one can even remotely say it's a solid unit. We've passed on numerous offensive resources to address it and we just dedicated an entire draft to it. We need a different scheme period. As for Beane, I don't see him as the terrible GM that others seem to think he is. We had that during the drought years. He has had the luxury of 3 picks within the top 20 his entire tenure, while overhauling a roster that was fresh off of years (close to 2 decades) of terrible management. He got us Allen. He got us Diggs. He invested and rebuilt the OL to a top unit. He misses on some picks just like any other GM and he has some bad contracts like any other GM. I think he's tried to appease his HC to a fault over the years and that has skewed the perception of him. I'd be good with Beane working in tandem with another HC.
  3. Man, if you didn't put that in parentheses, I never would have known what you meant
  4. It’s because Joe Brady has this dumb philosophy where he thinks we can impose our will on defenses. Why didn’t we have a playbook full of blitz beating plays against the Falcons? Same reason. It’s arrogance and probably just a lack of competence.
  5. This post got me thinking. It's not Allen's problem if he isn't wired to be an a-hole and yell at his team mates. The fact that Brady & Rogers did it is irrelevant as they are different people with very different personalities. Just check out Mahommes who IMO is more like Allen then Brady/Rogers temperament wise. There isn't a lot of footage showing him yelling at his teammates and after the game he takes almost all the blame and doesn't throw teammates under the bus. Matt Stafford also won a recent SB with the Allen temperament. So while I agree that for some guys this works there are also plenty of examples where SB winning QB's don't have to become someone they're not in order to hold teammates accountable. In those situations like KC & LA: * the coaches play the bad cop holding players accountable. * the GM's bring in guys who are self motivated and don't need the QB yelling at them to do their job. Remember the bickering Bills? t hit it's dysfunctional peak when Kelly started throwing teammates under the bus (remember Howard Ballard) and Thomas publicly called him out on it. This supremely talented team went 9 - 7 and lost in the first round of the playoffs. But Kelly got the message and stopped yelling at his team mates and Thomas STHU and the rest was history. So rather then demand that Allen change his basic personality how about the Bills change the coach & GM and make accountability their responsibility.
  6. They won't mail it in if the #1 seed in the NFC is at stake.
  7. I think the argument isn’t that it would count but would have demonstrated better vision by Allen. I speaks to Josh being rattled or not seeing open guys. Penalty isn’t relevant.
  8. @Pittsburgh- Win vs Cincinnati- Win @ NE- Loss @ Cle- Win vs Phil- Loss vs NYJ- Win Wildcard loss to the Patriots, Colts, Broncos or Ravens.
  9. We can pick up about ~$20mil I think by moving on from Taron, Knox and Samuel next year. Bass needs to take a pay cut or be replaced. Guys like Groot, Bernard, and Benford we are welded to. Bernard especially seems like that one's gonna hurt for a couple years. As things stand I cannot fathom a world where both his health AND his play on the field comes close to living up to that extension.
  10. @Pittsburgh- Loss vs Cincinnati- Loss @ NE- Loss @ Cle- Win vs Phil- Loss vs NYJ- Win Miss the playoffs with a 9-8 record.
  11. No trolling at all. The one play in mind writing this was Johnson being dragged four yards on 4th and 1 when he hit the guy behind the line of scrimmage.
  12. Its past time to rebuild.
  13. Right after he broke a 20 yard run I get why Josh said that, because I was wondering the same thing
  14. An honest case can be made that we may not win a game the rest of this year. NE, Cle, and Philadelphia all have defenses that could shut this offense down. Cincinnati is winnable, but I fell it's going to be a "first to 50 wins" type game with the two defenses. We should beat the Jets to close out the building with a win, but will it matter by then?
  15. Beane and McDermott have finally lost me. McDermott is a defensive coach who can not build a defense that can win in the playoffs, even with all the draft and free agent capital going to that side of the ball. And it's not like the defense needs to strangle anyone, the offense typically scores 30 points, Josh plays his best in the playoffs. Josh can not will this team to a championship no matter how great he is, and I think he is the most complete QB in NFL history. He needs more help. I think Beane and McDermott are both great people, and I wish them the best, but I don't think they can build a team around Josh that can win a SB.
  16. @Pittsburgh- Loss vs Cincinnati- Loss @ NE- Loss @ Cle- Loss vs Phil- Win vs NYJ- Win 9-8 and no playoffs is realistic.
  17. Beane runs the draft. The overall strategy McDermott has a say in so if you want to argue too much on defense etc its legit to point to both of them. But Beane is 100% the one evaluating and selecting players.
  18. He could get rid of Beane and I'd take that for now. I don't want him making anymore personnel decisions for my team. Championship Roster? on more than one occasion he's believed that. The coaching staff is canoeing upstream right now.
  19. Buffalo QB Coach Ronald Curry an option to be the offensive passing game planning assistant? Marc Lubick Buffalo Passing Game Specialist/Game Management. Looks like he isn't getting it done or needs more involvement with the current play calling. No idea what the answer is...
