  1. Past hour
  2. I am not a fan of PFF and in this case, I totally disagree. Some in their top 10 deserve it but to put Stefanski in ahead of McDermott is frankly a joke.
  3. I think you're talking about his legacy which is fine - he has a better resume than McDermott. In the upcoming season...? I don't really see him as the #2 coach going into the season. Other than beating the chiefs backups in week 18, they lost their last 3 games and beat almost no one with a winning record all year.
  4. Wrong century. Its all mouse clicks these days
  5. The greatest HC of all time was like .500 without the greatest QB of all time. I think it’s safe to say McDermott isn’t in Bill Belichick territory, no? Speculating he would be far better than the greatest coach ever is kind of a bridge too far imo.
  6. such an iconic great Visual here. one of my fabs a-ha take on me
  7. I actually think Cam's "student" co-host is what makes this video funny. Taking notes and acting like he doesn't understand football. That part was entertaining to me. When you can be funny without being obnoxious and keep in character...that's the stuff.
  8. They didn't "hit the wrong spot." They hit exactly what was intended, and followed it up seconds later with another, again, exactly what was intended and what the physics suggested. Nonsense.
  9. that people don't understand how HR works in todays world blows my mind. i can excuse people not getting the whole point Roger serves. He acts on the decisions of the owners en masse. he's supposed to be the face of the bad guy, the heel to the guilt and blame of the problems to keep the individual owners at bay. that people willy nilly don't get upset at the league corporate system is what is funny. the administrative stuff is amazing. not to be political at all but that the league was willing to fine teams for not changing their logo during June is an example of how the administrative wing of the nfl is far more powerful than just Goodell.
  10. Seven out of the last eight years of making the playoffs after 17 years of drought and you focus on the (in actuality) 2 years at the beginning…
  11. What does that have to do with the Sabres "loss of Canadian fans"?
  12. I went to the wine festival there one year, and they offered rides on the track with a professional driver. He would go as fast or slow as you wanted. We choose fast. It was a blast. Used to be you could (not legally) go up on the train trestle, not sure if you can still can since they re-built it.
  13. Looking at head-to-head, McDermott has done well against the coaches on that list. A couple of near misses (Eagles, Broncos) thanks to FGs. But beyond that, lists and rankings are subjective. They're typically nothing more than a means for lazy content providers to publish something to stir up debate and get clicks when they've got nothing to write about.
  14. Do you believe that Sean McDermott is a better head coach than Sean Payton? If so, we STRONGLY disagree. Payton has a Super Bowl and would have 2 without the worst call in NFL History. He changed the momentum of the Super Bowl with a surprise onside kick. He went to Denver with a bottom 10 roster and went to the playoffs. Sean Payton is a way better coach than Sean McDermott.
  15. I think our QB is better. If our coach was better then they (KC) would be up against an all time great coach/QB combo but our coach isnt nearly as good
  16. He's passing game coordinator for the Cowboys under Shottenheimer but i don't think he's going to call anything. His miami meltdown also probably didn't help my opinion of his playcalling. Like what are you doing running 92 offensive plays in that heat and passing way too often. The Bengals/Broncos games before his firing were also, very poorly called games - 8 RB rushing attempts against cincy, and just a total inability to manage clock was becoming a major issue.
  17. Fair or not McDermott will be judged by winning a Super Bowl. If he wins one, then he will be considered a legendary coach in WNY. If he doesn't then fans will be angry at Terry Pegula for keeping a coach who wasted Allen's career.
  18. Don’t forget HCQ (while defending masking, social distancing, lockdowns and riots/protests with a straight face).
  19. There are a whole bunch of terms and jargon in the antitrust law and economics space (I am an economist who consults on antitrust issues in mergers and antitrust litigation, among other things). Generally, people don't say amongst themselves "let's collude!" and it's even rare for people to explicitly collude (think of a smoke filled room where business leaders in an industry agree to set prices or divide territories/customers). And as someone noted, a league is a different sort of animal than Coke vs. Pepsi. The league I am sure has argued over the years that they have rules in place to make sure there is in theory a level playing field among teams and that the real competition they face is other forms of entertainment, such as college football, etc. Here, the issue is monopsony (basically, monopoly from the standpoint of a buyer rather than a seller) which is the power to decrease wages or other terms as a buyer of labor . . . Sorry for the digression . . .
  20. Payton's ahead of him because of getting a rookie QB to the playoffs or whatever. But he was absolutely outcoached in the playoffs against buffalo to an almost embarassing degree. That was the popular "Upset alert" and they promptly got stomped. To me - PFF is supposed to be the "analytics" group, and this article didn't offer much of anything to back it up.
  21. For quite a few years until Ontario repealed the 'Sunday blue laws' regarding businesses opening, one could go down to the local gin mill and watch some dancer take off almost every stitch of clothing. You could not, however, find an open hardware store to get some absolutely vital part for home repair. 🤔🙄
  22. I love the visual of this clip. thin lizzy whisky in the jar
  23. And LA. Both Marxists. Both disasters.
