Beans and Sean - Should we miss the SB again
ngbills replied to Cubanmist 1's topic in The Stadium Wall
So much short term memory or lack of real memory. The Bills had a ton of ~8-8 seasons with guys like Edwards, Losman, Taylor, an old Bledsoe, Orton, etc. You cant tell me Allen replacing any of those QB's does not drastically change things. Additionally many of those years were in a much tougher AFC east with 6 tough games compared to the past few years in the division. I would expect a capable HC to inherit this team with Josh Allen and achieve at least similar results. The Bills win more games from either playing crappy teams or Josh Allen balling out than coaching or game plan genius. -

never going to happen -
I’m not arguing about anything either. I just don’t think Trevor Lawrence is that good of a quarterback. I doubt he’ll be in the MVP conversation at the end of the year because he’s not consistent at all

Why keep bringing certain guys back?

I agree. Lots of hand wringing going on for the beginning of the season with new WRs and a D that will have some new faces soon. Only thing I would think of doing is getting a DB by trade deadline. -
Nah that's just basic hand fighting. That's never getting called nor should it be. DBs are allowed to place their hand on their man in coverage as long as they not forcibly restricting their movement. If DBs weren't allowed to do that they wouldn't be able to orient themselves in coverage and you might as well just eliminate pass defense at that point.

Hawes, yes. Knox, no. Paying close to $10m a year to have a blocking tight end that occasionally catches passes is basically what hawes has been doing for 900k. Knox has 6 receptions. Hawes has 4.

Geesh - I thought we were finally done with him. He made Milano look reliable and available.

My favorite part of this play is Gonzalez with his hands all over Keon holding up the route while Josh is still in the pocket going thru progressions. WE NEVER DRAW ILLEGAL USE OF HANDS. EVER

Their secondary reminded me of how our secondary used to look when Leslie Frazier was here. They were synchronized, getting appropriate depth on their drops, passing guys off well, and when it came time to plaster they plastered. Ours used to look like that until Frazier left and since then it's never looked the same. Vrabel is an excellent coach and it looks like they found their QB too. They need to add more legit pass catchers and more edge pass rush to be real championship contenders but they are probably one offseason away from being a real threat for the division, if they're not already there now. -
Again you’re arguing with something I never said. He’s on a team with a record tied for the best in the league. They’re coming off games where they outplayed the Chiefs and 49ers and passed the eye test easily. I said he’ll make an appearance on the MVP odds board. That’s it. That’s all I said. QBs on winning teams are the guys on those lists. Guys like Jackson will disappear from tgat list, even if temporarily. Did I ever say he’s better than Jackson? No. I said he will appear on the MVP odds board.

Maybe Tucker will spot Ray Epps in the crowd at Utah Valley University. Just admit that you loved Tucker until he went in too deep on the conspiracy theories for your taste.

The ONLY way this happens is if Josh goes directly to Pegula and says "We'll never win a championship win the current regime." In the meantime, we all get to enjoy Marvin Lewis 2.0. -
I know, I saw the same thing and wondered if they stopped using him as much also after he came off the field to evaluate and then limited him. I would rather have him in the post season healthy than in week 5 (well, I'd prefer him healthy for all of it).

Rex just needs to get his feet back in the door with an NFL team

I get it. He is also having his best year thus far. A few more snaps he has earned. But im also ok rewarding Knox and Hawes for slamming their faces into des and opening up holes in the run game. I think there is a balance that can be found that doesn't make the offense predictable by personnel but plays into the rooms strengths.

The owner should know, that is not how you make a team better. Change makes a team better and Beane is all about resigning players..even after they have shown you who they are. Groot is a player I would entertain moving ASAP! -

Bills will never get a ring if you have a defensive minded head coach who keeps investing high draft picks on defense. Every year Josh Allen's talent is wasted because the draft picks never go to a 1st round WR . And each year the defense failed especially in the playoffs -

Bringing in a former guy because of injuries midseason doesn’t bother me too much. Signing all those former guys during the offseason was really annoying though. Our practice squad is basically becoming a pension program for washed up former Bills. -

Agreed, you have a HOF QB and have not hit on enough picks to improve the team. McDermott is stubborn and not willing to bring in a new defensive cordinator and run a different style/scheme of defence. McDermott got fired in Philly because of this defence, it does not work against good QB'S
