Am I to believe Babich had a hand in that? There are a lot of factors in this. We are playing with a lot of different pieces on defense. Cam Lewis being in a lot and Taron not having solid games makes it hard to plan with them. The edge and line are a hodgepodge. The linebackers are without arguably our best LB. The safeties are playing Poyer whom was resurrected from the crypt and trying to cover Bishops inexperience. I can forgive some things right now on defense with adjustments. The Patriots big play run was a broken play fluke. The first series was not a catch but ultimately a small factor in the early part of the game perhaps. Two scores in the first half and ultimately one that actually hurt them with the kickoff return. The defense got no rest on the second half. Quote

He had to know the hammer was gonna be dropped at some time. Might the public shaming and suspension played with his mental preparedness? Quote

They may be called upon in the playoffs if there are injuries. Iron sharps iron, and there is no better iron to sharp against than Garrett. Quote
Chaos Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago You sign Tucker. Unless you think there is another better kicker available. Then you sign that kicker. This is professional football. The NFL says he is eligible. 3 1 Quote

harryS Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The Browns were ridiculously banged up yesterday in Chicago, including missing most of their offensive line. If those guys don't play again, it really should be an easy win, even though Cleveland's defense has been much better at home than on the road the past couple of seasons. Quote

But they don’t have a great unit. Their special teams is not great, their offense is not a great unit. Their defense is not a great unit. So, how can they get the right matchups in the playoffs, and they’re going to have to do that on the road... Let’s add some pieces — Keon Coleman didn’t pan out. You still need a top-flight receiver. All the injuries they’ve had on the defense. Those are real things... I love Cook. I love their running game. I love Josh’s ability to ad-lib and make plays. But as far as winning a Super Bowl — can they go to the playoffs? Are they a tough out? Yes. But are they going to win the Super Bowl? No.” 1 Quote

Coffeesforclosers Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Yeah, we heard this all before. Apart from having an elite OL, RB and QB, and a very good TE group, we're hopeless on offense because we don't have Tee Higgins or something like that. This dead horse is so beat up it's burger. Quote
Boatdrinks Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago And yet that not “ great” offensive unit leads the AFC in points scored. They’d be 3rd best in the NFC. Quote
hondo in seattle Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) The Bills have the best offensive Expected Point Added (EPA) in the league right now. The Browns have the worst. Interesting matchup. www.nfeloapp.com/nfl-power-ratings/nfl-epa-tiers/ Edited 7 hours ago by hondo in seattle 1 Quote

From the tape it’s clear the right side players didn’t do their job. I think it was Hairston and the DE who should have contain on that play on the back side, and they blew it. 15 minutes ago, Coffeesforclosers said: Yeah, we heard this all before. Shortchaz Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) My hope for this team before the season began was to have a few players outplay their contract and have the defense develop into a force by week 10. I don’t think either of those things have happened but we still have a puncher’s chance. the defense needs to stay healthy and improve on health (Oliver) to show it’s ultimate (potential) form. I’m still not a believer in McDermott’s defensive philosophy, but he’s doing enough with what he has atm. haven’t heard from walker in a bit. We need to generate pressure with the front 4 in the playoffs, still feel like this is possible. ultimately, we need things to go our way the rest of the way. Low probability but not impossible. Probably just hopefulness/wishful thinking, but I’ve had the feeling like the staff is holding something back all season long. Last two games showed me something. Going to be interesting going forward for sure. Edited 6 hours ago by Shortchaz Quote
