Debate Over: Drake Maye can’t hold Josh Allen’s jockstrap

This was the biggest game of Drake’s career and like the 12th biggest for Josh.

 

its not a surprise who was more ready for the moment at the end to me. Drake is still quite good and should get better

Anyways, Drake Maye is NOT the MVP this season. After what happened today, Drake has to be put under neath Josh in the MVP race. I'm sorry, but that's the reality.

 

Drake Maye gets his props. However, he didn't do much in the 2nd half. Not sure if that gets fixed, like...ever. That's all in the mind and heart thing. I don't know. 2nd year Josh Allen showed signs of stepping up even during that time.

Drake Maye is a "system" QB....not a game changer.

 

Once the Pats have to pay him a monster contract extension, he will not be able to do more with less like Josh Allen can.

He will be a solid, likely great QB for years to come.

 

Hopefully, like most great young QB's that broke out in their first three seasons, this year goes down as Drake Maye's best statistical season of his career. Or in other words, it's only downhill from here for Maye. LOL

I watched just about every game John Elway played and have watched just about every game Josh Allen has played.   There is a heck of a lot more similarities than differences. 
Neither QB had high completion percentages their first few years.  Both great athletes, Josh is a better runner.  I still say Elway had the strongest arm ever, Josh is right up there though.  Both with defensive minded coaches their first several years.  Broncos got wise and dropped Reeves and let Shanahan take over but still took a few years before Broncos won a SB.  The other thing is Elway and Broncos were mostly a 1 dimensional team before Terrell Davis came along, Josh has James Cook right now.  Bills have the necessary ingredients offensively to win a SB.

Drake Maye threw 0 TDs vs Bills in 2025 so far.  He did have 2 rushing TDs today.  

 

Nice player but yet to see him exhibit generational talent in a big game.  Time will tell.

Kid is a good player.  I have yet to see anything to make him great just yet.   You want to say he is great for a second year QB fine.   He is not great…he is good.   Let him play through a few years at a high level and you can call him great.

Is that a real quote? That's amazing. Reminds of Sean McVay after last year's Rams loss, got up to the podium and first thing out of his mouth before any questions was "Josh Allen is an alien." I can't imagine what it's like having to coach against him. The most unstoppable player in NFL history when he's feeling it.

I think the fact that anyone in any room is making the comparison is so premature and not warranted.   Just WAY too soon.   Why can’t people stay real and say - kid is playing at a high level and is very promising.    Need to see a consistent result for a few years before we talk about putting him in the category of the guys we have been watching the last 6-7 years.
