JJ McCarthy has shown absolutely nothing. I know it's pretty much his rookie year but the ones who have it at least show glimpses. I don't think he does.

Minnesota should have kept Darnold. The blew it and set their franchise back another 3-5 years. Now Jefferson will want out too.

I called it when the Vikings got rid of Cousins AND Darnold. They thought KOC could make just any QB into an All-Pro (and for good reason since he was on a hot streak, even with Josh Dobbs). But you really cant just stick "anyone" in at QB.

Nope. Not gonna sucker me in. Buffalo would give up multiple firsts, some other picks, Keon Coleman....and Jefferson would pop his Achilles walking in the door.

I’d love to land Jefferson, I wouldn’t care about the number of picks, they just get wasted anyway.

 

A more likely scenario, which I also welcome, is just signing Addison in FA.

This is insane.  More likely that they thought that McCarthy would be real QB.   Also likely that Beane thought Keon and Palmer would real WRs.  (In Steven Seagal voice) They were both wrong

Agree. Minny fumbled the bag big time here. Darnold is a top tier QB in this league. Did they really think they had something better with JJ? They should’ve resigned Darnold and traded JJ.

Its a Shanny system curse.

 

Obviously KOC liked JJ, and Shanny liked Trey Lance. 
 

They can wring a lot of production out of physically limited, smart QBs. And then those QBs limitations demonstrate themselves, so they go hunting for the physically talented player to mold, and it can end up disastrous.

 

Brock Purdy bailed out Kyle, but no one is bailing out KOC if McCarthy flames out.

 

Kinda sucks for them honestly. Tough position.
