As for Cincy's defense, the last I looked they are ranked #32 in total defense, #31 in pass defense, and #31 in run defense (over 150 yards per game).

 

They are also ranked #32 in scoring defense, #28 in red zone defense, and #31 in 3rd down defense.

I think the Baltimore defense has a lot of the same issues as ours and is arguably worse.  They surprisingly weren’t as bad at stopping drives as you’d think given the score but the ravens offense just turned it over so many times that it doesn’t show up in the points allowed

 

Cincy shockingly  only had two td drives in that 32 point game lol there were quite a few 5-15 yard fg drives after a turnover

 

i was gonna mention both those tds being in 3rd and long scenarios but we are certainly not known for shutting down 3rd and longs either 😂

It's going to be a great game, and I think we'll win it but it will be a nail biter. 

 

We're so up and down this year in terms of perception. Now the defense suddenly became great. I don't think people realize just how pathetic, pitiful, and wimpy the Steelers offense has been most of the season. They are abysmal. Their defense has also been bad all year. 

 

If a decent team throws up all over itself and turns the ball over 3-4 times they typically have a chance. If not they lose pretty handily. 

 

There is a lot of bad, sloppy football played around the league, which is how teams like Pittsburgh rack up some wins. But they are a pretender and even their own fans knew it before the game. Flacco put up 33 points on them. They are a joke. 

 

You can only beat who you play, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Records aside, the Bengals are by far a tougher opponent than the Steelers. It will be a good test and a fun game. 

 

BTW, Zach Taylor should be fired if they miss the playoffs. He has Burrow, Chase and Higgins and they keep missing the post season, mostly due to slow starts even with Burrow healthy.

I genuinely believe you also listed those 3 players in level of importance. We need Kincaid back more than anyone on the roster except for maybe Oliver. Palmer might be the only downfield threat we have. I wouldn't want to go try to win a Super Bowl without Dawkins but his play hasn't matched his hype this year and RVD was solid last week.

Our defense is fine, it's been ~average all year despite losing a ton of man hours to injury

In this season, I throw all the general statistics out. Team has no business of losing lost. Team has business of winning won. Recency matters and I go by what they have done since Burrow back into the lineup.
