Is this a normal thing? I have to say I have never noticed it before

Then I guess you've never watched:

Vontaze Burfict

Albert Haynesworth

Rodney Harrison

Vince Wilfork

Ndamukong Suh

Bill Romanowski

They would've ended Allen and celebrated.

I thought poster meant he hasn’t seen a player let up and NOT ended Allen 🤷

You're probably missing a few more names, but that's a good starting list.

Those are somewhat recent, let alone old school boys.

I think people are getting a little carried away with this. Props for not being dirty and intentionally hurting him I guess. But I don't think we need to praise the guy when we have no idea what his intent was or how purposeful the let up was.

But I get it- we are all desperate for anything positive right now.

I also noticed that during the game. Houston beat the crap out of us, but they weren’t dirty plays. I have total respect for that team. McDermott and Brady are who needs to see this. That offensive scheme was stupid under those conditions.

Yeah, I tried to make it relatable to the under 40 members🤣

I actually noticed this watching live and thought to myself how he could've ended Allen's season right there. I guess it's one of a few positives we can take from the other night

heck it could’ve made next season unpleasant

I mean, yea I’ll give props to him for that.

We’re a potential playoff matchup and/or team that keeps them out of the playoff.  He could’ve taken us out.

Cant say the same about Trey Hendrickson.

He switched his grip to get a better hold on Allen to actually bring him down.

much better result than when Christian Wilkins switched his grip to get a better hold on Allen ..I’m sure

Back when Brady was in his prime, I always felt there was a "Do not Injure" directive from the league after the Bernard Pollard hit that caused a season ending injury.

If there really is a "Do not Injure" directive from the league, Josh Allen would certainly be one of the players on that list.

I agree. I think the guy was being super smart as to not be flagged for 15 yards.  So while it’s a nice feel good story to think this Texans player took it easy on our guy, it’s more likely he was using his brain and didn’t want to get flagged.

Under NFL rules (Rule 12, Section 2), a rushing defender is not allowed to forcibly hit the passer in the knee area or below when the quarterback has one or both feet on the ground.

That's a good point I didn't consider. I'm old enough to remember Bruce Smith letting up a few times on Joe Montana when he played for KC in the playoffs. Joe was taking a beating that game.
