As great as JA17 has been i will always remember this season for one thing in particular.  I took for granted that Allen could simply overcome any offensive deficiency. But this season it’s painfully clear that with lousy WRs, injured TE1, and the Oline slightly regressed from last season… even Josh can’t mask it.

He’s under contract for 6 years- but I personally want to see him win one- also think if he was elsewhere he would have  by now.
I’ve watched this team since ‘87 seen some great teams

Before he got here things were getting really repetitive and watching got old as things were just bad for a long time.

Not sure what’s gonna happen here - likely he will continue leaving it all on the field and no matter if  it’s good year or a bad year I will absolutely be cheering for him because he’s special and does amazing ***** on the field and in the game

He definitely deserves a better coaching staff and roster around him

If he were to leave I’d cheer for him no matter what- even if he was playing the Bills

That was always

going to happen. As great a QB as Allen is he wont win a Super Bowl by himself. The defense is garbage. The offense needs a legit WR 1 and WR 2. Until a stronger team is built around 17 then we will never see a Lombardi in Buffalo. I dont think Beane is the one who should be rebuilding the roster going forward. But my opinion means nothing as only Terry Pegula's is the one that counts.

I think Allen will request a trade. I think the California boy with the California wife will want to play in California.

i just hope when he does this that my fellow bills fans and buffaloians don’t make a$$es outta themselves by burning his jerseys and booing him and stuff

Josh just married a Hollywood actress and seems like a family guy to me.

McBeane process-based SB window was great but with the cap situation looks to be closing.

I know many are thinking it.   I'm just saying it.

Stream of consciousness posting is back? I’m here for it! Here’s my try.

Jalen Hurts plays for the Eagles

I like the color green.

Farms can have green land.

Green land is for sale.

I’m concerned Pegula is going to sell the team.

Brandon Beane missing on his number one picks has set the team back. I'm not sure if McDermott is involved in the process or not, but considering the fact he hired Beane, I suspect so. To stay on top, when picking low every year, a team needs a very competent front office, like the Eagles. The Bills do not have this. Could we trust Pegula to hire a top tier GM, who in turn should hire the head coach, I doubt it. All we have to do is to look at the Sabres. The Bills missed their window thanks to McDermott's blunder.

I don't see a rebuild coming but a reload is needed. Beane has done a sub-average job with the draft and free agency and the effects are cumulative over several seasons. Those problems have allowed other teams, like NE and Denver drafting earlier and having cap room to pass the Bills in talent. Free agency has been hit and miss with cap constraints caused by resigning players that under-perforn to big contracts. I think this is the biggest problem. Signing average players you should move on from to big extensions.

McDermott hit his ceiling a couple seasons ago. Some argue earlier. Ownership needs to make major moves that could lead to the needed changes. Most fear Pegula won't act.

I'd add without Allen this is a 5 win NFL roster. That's how bad the front office is here. One gripe is they've been throwing almost all the resources at the defense for years and they still stink.

And he will put all of those resources into the Sabres.

Would it be the worst thing to happen if he did sell the team?

Elway was 37 when he won his first SB

There is time for Josh but Beane is wasting it. And Elway played in 3 before he turned 30.

Dudes made plenty of money and has become the commercial face of the NFL. With an organization that absolutely refuses to help him with any nfl caliber WRs, would not surprise me at all for him to eventually request a trade. West coast kid with a pretty Hollywood starlit wife, my guess is he’ll be playing out there somewhere soon. He literally could not have given anymore to the organization than he has with what he’s had around him

Most of this season and especially after last night, people have been calling for the firing of Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane.

It's pretty clear that the coaching and the systems aren't working anymore. And that the roster is in terrible shape with no easy fixes. Both have had a number of fireable offenses.

While I understand fans frustration and wanting a new regime, the question I keep coming back to is would Josh want to stick around for that?

He'll be 30 years old next season. We've already wasted much of his prime. A new Coach and/or a new GM will surely want to rebuild the roster, the staff, and the systems in place in their image.

This is likely to take time and the odds that they'll come in and get back to where they were immediately while rebuilding is unlikely. It will probably take a couple off seasons. And there's no guarantee whomever we bring in will actually improve things.

My concern is that at Josh's age and with the clock ticking on his prime that he would rather ask for a Trade to a team that has a roster in place and a good coach and GM in place than waste time and roll the dice on a rebuild under unknowns.

There's no easy answer as it's pretty clear that Sean isn't the answer and Brandon has mismanaged the cap and roster. So a lot of things are going to have to be done after this season. But I worry Josh won't want to stick around for a total blow up.

I think we can still be competitive during a mini rebuild, their going to need send away older vets and take some serious dead cap hits but when you have Allen a good GM who understands the importance of player skill/forty times can reboot things quickly. This team still have some good young player they can keep around,  just need to get rid of guys like Knox/Milano/Johnson/Samuel/Bernard/Dawkins.  Out of those players,  getting a starting LT will be the hardest to do and if you look at the rest of the roster then most guys are still young and you can keep them around.  A good GM perhaps can make a trade for a good young play making player and we start hitting on some higher round picks along with good free agent signings and we can turn this around quickly. The problem with current roster construction is there are no elite play makers outside of Allen and Cook.  I think Bishop on defence could be that guy on defence and maybe you add a couple more with one on offence and another one on defence

Dead cap hit in 2026

Dawkins-26.7 m dead cap - 25 m cap hit if he stayed

Milano- 11 m dead cap -11 m cap hit if he stayed

Samuel-3.4 m dead cap - 9.7mcap if he stayed

Knox - 7.4 m dead cap -17 cap m if he stayed

Johnson-9.5 m-dead cap -11.5m if he stayed

Bernard-11.8m New GM could decide to either trade or keep him around for another season because he will be 27 next season and only 5.4m cap hit

I think starting over with new starting LT in 2026 is a must,  we cannot afford to wait until complete Dawkins decline and he gets Allen killed,  just watch some of plays he just stops because of bad conditioning, getting rid of 2 starting LB'S and Johnson allows a new defensive cordinator to start fresh and go forward with bigger bodies.

So a mini rebuild that includes new schemes with new coordinators on both sides of the ball along with new HC would not be that bad and with Allen we still could be competitive during those 1-2 years.  Going to be up to Terry if he has seen enough and wants to give Allen a better opportunity to lead this team to a Super Bowl
