I’m not a fan of this defense, but they did give the offense plenty of chances in the 2nd half against a bad Houston offense. The offense could never control the line of scrimmage. Brady couldn’t scheme anything besides the big toss back play. Coaching scheme is such an important part but we always seem to lack in that department.

Another part of me thinks the FG attempt we turned down.....would of been a long one...and Prater missed an xtra point...but if he attempted and hit that in a dome...then we could of gone for a FG to win at the end.   But I have no idea on what Praters pregame max was in warmups.   Its amazing the injury bug has even affected our kicking game.   This could of been an escape with an ugly win other wise.  As ugly as it was.

Did Palmer even play before that 4 & 27? Dude needs to step up! But.. what a play that was! Too bad it was all for nothing. 

That and the misdirection in the 1st half, and the great timing of the screen to counter the blitz, etc. were good stuff. But one we should expect from an OC on the regular. The lack of help to the OLine, like using SOME max protection, 6th linemen, whatever, I just don't get.

This is where I’m at. Yes the offense is frustrating and played badly as a whole but that’s what this game was always going to be. Going on road. #1 defense. It was going to be tight. And you let Davis Mills carve you up in a 2 min drill before half time? After you just went ahead?

My god, Hoecht played 6 quarters.  Also, Oliver and Hoecht are pass rushers who come off the field on expected runs.  We didn't have Kincaid, they didn't have their number one receiver.  Jones and Walker are our two best interior run defenders.  We still had Bosa and Groot on the ends.  I'm sorry, but I'm not blaming injuries for this game.

Defense gave the offense too many chances in the 2nd half to win this game.

I was thinking pregame dont pass up FGs.    You're on the road against a very good defense, take points.  Dont Dan Campbell it.   Good teams win

Yeah so where I've gotten to is this staff gives us nothing on defense and they give us nothing on offense. It's just utterly generic NFL coaching on both sides of the ball, and the GM made the fatal mistake of investing in his vanilla coach over his generational QB. McDermott got everything he wanted and he needs to own this mess.

I gave McDermott 10 games to do something with the talent at his disposal on defense this year and he hasn’t produced. He’s moved from a neutral impact to a negative impact in my estimation. I.e. he’s sliding from an average coach to a below average coach. he’s frankly been here too long by about 3 years.

The point is not to blame the Bills injuries for the loss. But that you make their play worse as the Texans were not fully healthy.

You are likely correct.  Pegs is Mr. Mediocracy as an owner.  My only hope is that unlike the Sabers, the Bills are a nationally followed team, and McD will be on national hot lists along with Bean,  and for good reason.

Penix is a great callout. Atlanta was another game where "the defense gave the offense a chance in the 2nd half." Another game of too little too late when you give up almost historic production in the 1st half. And then inevitably you have fans questioning Allen's decision making and wondering if he's gone Hollywood. I'm so over it. Please just get a new staff in here and let's build this team around the most important person in the organization.

Mess is the perfect word.  Josh is wasting his time with this group.   No rhythm or imagination on the offensive side.  Defense is hard to watch.  There’s gonna be at least one coordinator on the way out.  And I’m wondering if one of Beane/McD goes too.
