This video is 2 weeks old but it popped up in my feed. I thought it was pretty cool. First time I seen a sideline sheet up close and explained. Also goes through a little evolution of it. If you were ever curious about the sideline sheets, like me, this is a cool video. On a side note, I can't believe players remember all that *****.

It's just like learning French or Spanish

Football is a language that these people are learning for 15 years... You also get what you put in

That's why some players don't last long because at the NFL it's even more complex than college

Jon gruden is historically known for Old School West Coast 20-word verbiage plays

You need to be extremely smart to execute his offense

Luckily thanks to many years reading this board I understand this stuff perfectly ;)

Tbh I’m less confused by it than I used to be but it’s the speed that they process this stuff that leaves me in the dust.

Scatter to West right tight, F left , 372 y stick z spot

But give me a playbook and three weeks of camp and I'm on it coach!

Wait, Gruden knows what a sideline sheet is?!? What an incredible watch. I think he would make an excellent HC candidate should the Bills choose to move on from McDermott. If not, I saw a video of Marty Morhinweg explaining why they don’t allow the hip drop tackle!! How are guys like this still available?!?

If he can do that, he can surely lead this Bills team to a few straight Super Bowls.

Sometimes I wonder if Brady's is written on a napkin?

1. Run

2 Run

3. Run

4. Touche push

5.Pass to someone whos open

6. Lateral slant pass

7. If nobody is open, QB runs.

8. See #1

"Let me tell you something, man. This play sheet right here? I really like this thing, man. See these? Words, man. *aggressively taps the playsheet* you just say the words. Lookie here:

Triple-YX-banana-71-Alpha-left-split-post-54-Charmander-slot-omega; on one"

*Scribbles incoherent play diagram on whiteboard*

"Easy peesie, man"

How close was I?

That is SUPER COOL! Thanks for sharing. Those sideline sheets look like when somebody’s putting a PowerPoint presentation together and simply refuses to eliminate any slides. The presentation runs thirty minutes long and the second half ends up a total disaster with the presenter flipping through the remaining slides at something approaching light speed. 😂

A couple of observations:

First, these teams must be totally screwed when the local hotel’s laminater machine is on the fritz on game day morning.

Second, what’s with all of these coaches sporting clear framed glasses these days. Was there a memo from the commissioner??

They've been in so long (few years) they finally made it to the 60 year old millionaires and therefore are on their way out.
