zow2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) This will be an issue as the playoffs near and they likely won't have the comfy home cooking in Orchard Park. When the Allen era took off they had a really good road team. The Bills were hard to beat. Now we've seen losses to Atlanta and Miami which are just awful losses. It seems to me that our offensive line, which is normally a great unit were overwhelmed and out schemed in those losses. They have to bring extra attitude and nastiness to these road games. I'm not sure what else can be done other than be healthier and have Allen get into a rhythm? The defense is what it is. Edited 1 hour ago by zow2 Quote

BillsFan130 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm going to over simplify it, but just put the game in 17s hands and let him get in a rhythm like last game 2 2 Quote

That is the Oline they need. To be fair, myself and several others predicted the week leading up to that game that Buffalo got a gift getting to play Dalton. Some people disagreed but that worked out as we know. Houston D will be a test. Quote

The Firebaugh Kid Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I had to watch Cam Newton talk about how we suck on the road yesterday. Boy is he special. All kinds of butthurt Allen keeps breaking all his precious records. 1 Quote

That's where the nuance of football is. For a few years Josh struggled against the Jets defense. And the DC? Jeff Ulbrich. He has Josh's number. And this year, in the game in Atlanta? Guess who their DC is? That's right...Jeff Ulbrich. Josh never had a "Jet" problem...he has an Ulbrich problem. 1 Quote

I doubt the result would have been much different with Bryce Young in there other than James Cook potentially setting the all time single game rushing record and not sitting out the entire 4th quarter. billieve420 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I think more so team believing it can walk into some of these games and the other team is going to lay down for them. This is nothing new though as team has faltered against teams they shouldn't lose to in previous seasons. It has cost them the #1 seed a number of times already and looking like it will be the same thing this year. They lack the urgency to put away teams and rather play down to their level. Hopefully, McDermott got this team ready to go on short rest. Quote
dpberr Posted 59 minutes ago Posted 59 minutes ago I suspect there's things to correct here because when the team comes out flat, it's usually on the road. From the 2025 NFLPA Report Card on the Bills team travel: Note: In 2023, it was a D+. In 2024, team travel was a D, 25th in the league. Quote
Nihilarian Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago More importantly how do they fix their run defense? Quote

Next stop, PLAYOFFS! No argument that the Jets suck but history shows the Bills most of the time have struggled to get wins at Shea, Giants Stadium, and MetLife. I still hope the Bills can get the #1 seed. It starts Thursday and getting to 8-3. They can close to within one game of NE with a rematch coming up. I don't trust this team on the road in the playoffs. McDermott's teams are winless on the road in the playoffs. I don't want them to have to go to Denver or Baltimore who I think will eventually catch the Steelers and the win the division. Quote
colin Posted 35 minutes ago Posted 35 minutes ago in the playoffs mcd is winless on the road, and has dropped 2 at home (cinci and kc, in 22 and 23). we might end up decent in the regular season for road games, but we really have to get that fixed for the playoffs. Quote
GolfandBills Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago They are going to have to win most games like they did in the Bucs game. The defense is just not good enough. Quote
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago On the plus side - its a dome, and its not a team that runs the ball particularly well. Buffalo actually stuff's a decent amount of runs, their average is largely high from giving up a ton of explosives. I feel like Houstons passing attack relies on a decent run game which is why it's been so bad at times this year. They don't turn it over much at all, so its a game where buffalo really needs to avoid them. Defensively their pressure comes from premier edges, and they will probably get a couple. What you can't have is them wrecking your game, so i'd imagine there's a plan to chip a lot but also to use allens legs when they head up field with either a lead blocker or a receiving option. Good tackling team, so i'm not sure the shakir swing routes really going to be the bread and butter either. I think if we go at them like we've approached other games with consistent reaction to their alignment, we will probably fail offensively. Blitz beater wise... i know many will hate to hear it but keon might be useful in this one. I know they like palmer too but they have a solid secondary so you might need to throw a couple up with kincaid out. Quote
