Refs for the Bucs Game

Shout out to the refs overall yesterday for letting the players play.

 

In a game that featured 9 lead changes and some very momentum-shifting plays, the refs didn't have a factor.

Ummm, the very soft facemask penalty on one of the (horrific) WR screens to Shakir was a massive call.

We'll take it.  It was dissected pretty well on the telecast and all thought it was a good call.

I will say the line judge coming in from the top of the screen seemed to be marking the ball a half yard to a yard short often. He was doing it for both teams though.

Not necessarily a bad call, but we had to look at it closely, in slow motion, to detect a facemask.  Could very easily have been ignored.

In the modern NFL any ref impact less than a touchdown in considered a spectacular win.

No.  Its hard to sound authentic when clearly biased, but his fingers got up under the lip of the helmet, and caused a reaction exactly the same as a face mask.  At first i thought it was a bad call, but i think it was actually a super high level call.... especially once that "rule specialist" guy came on... that dudes a shill for NFL, but he said their is a provision for it in rulebook, I doubt he waws making that up... either way good call and id say the same if it was on us

Yeah that one was rough.  Lineman call that a "*****", its advanced lineman play, but basically, you catch a player over  extending/reaching and you redirect his momentum and drive him down.  Dion has been a beast with it, but he got flagged on it twice last year.... which is rough as hell, considering thats basically highlight reel lineman stuff

That play was tuff to officiate, from the refs view it probably 100% looked like he pulled the guy to the ground, and honestly he might have slightly, but I was yelling at the TV like a crazy person when they called it! 😂

I thought the call should actually be (twisting the players Head with leverage )

 That stuff is dangerous , and watching the replays so many times . Completely egregious and unnecessary

He grabbed the inside of Shakirs helmet and twisted it around. The ruling was correct.  The rule judge commentator explained it’s the same if you grab by the mask or the inside of helmet, and twist, that is unnecessary roughness

I will never, ever, ever, ever give a shout out, or kudos to referees no matter how accurate the game was called. There's not enough years left to make up for all of the egregious mistakes and garbage we've witnessed over the years.

The virtual measurement saves having to bring the sticks out to measure, but has nothing to do with where the referee places the ball.
