With the injuries to Samuel and Hardman, man....what a bad look for Coleman if he can't get a jersey with both of them out. But for me anyway, if this is indeed true which I have every belief that it is, I have no problem with it. Kid is handed an NFL opportunity on a silver platter and if he chooses not to take it seriously and not put in the work it takes to be great, then that's on him. Moore and Samuel have been pretty interchangable all season. Until Palmer went down, when everyone was healthy - sometimes Samuel was up and sometimes Moore was up. They're very similar. So Moore will come in for him. Hardman was active as a Returner more than anything else. As we dressed 5 WR'a all season, save for last week. And Hardman only got 4 reps on Offense. We'll probably go back to what we did for Returns before Hardman's arrival. Or we'll activate Brandon Codrington for that. But with Kincaid still down, it's likely we'll activate Latu again. So then we'll have Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Tyrell Shavers, and Elijah Moore up. And it comes down to who do you want active more for the last spot? Gabe Davis or Keon Coleman? That's really not even a question. 2 1 Quote

Not many young receivers come right out of college and are given an opportunity to be a go to player with a QB the caliber of Allen Ehhhh, he was teetering the line in that post game interview. He didnt say anything crazy, but he danced around accountability for certain.... I also saw a guy fighting demons between wanting to tell these reporters off and trying to turn on some charm, to take some heat out of the kitchen. Id be shocked if anything gets turned around. I think a few games riding pine/barely producing will tip the scales, and he'll end up a passive malcontent at the least. I've seen guys similar to this at work before. They'll try their best, against their nature, to not explode... but the second its apparent things cant be smoothed over, is when they start screaming, slamming doors and say "F - U! I quit". Like a last ditch effort to make it lookk like their decision to leave, when in reality, they knew firing was imminent Not what im rooting for, and would prefer he performs for the team.... but gun to my head and I have to guess.... we'll get the temper tantrum quit before you can fire me kinda move 1 Quote
RunTheBall Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago We don’t miss Coleman at all. He sucks. Doesn’t mean he will always suck, but after Game 1 he’s been a complete liability on the field. Opposing defenses laugh at him. They see Keon 1-1 they immediately drop the safety into the box because there is ZERO concern about getting beat deep. The offense was completely different against TB without that bumb taking 75% of the snaps. McD saw it, the players saw it. I think after Houston they will put him on the active roster with a much deserved and decreased snap count. Right now he’s a complete bust. 2 1 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I read he was inactive because he was late for a team meeting. Hopefully hes been punished enough and he will be active against the Texans I think Bills will need him down the home stretch Quote
MasterStrategist Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Little to zero practice this week - I think McD wants to see Keon put forth the effort/earn the trust back - and thats difficult to do in a condensed week of prep. Easy choice to put Moore for Samuel, and elevate Gabe and Latu again. Then theyll need to make a decision on Gabe after that, perhaps Hardman cut at that point. Keon needs to take advantage of every practice rep, meetings, etc to prove he deserves a jersey on gamedays - not only to coaches but players as well who can clearly notice the issues. Quote

Are you good with the Bills relying on Coleman over the off-season? I’m not. Get him out. Imagine if it’s week 10 next season and he misses or is late for a meeting. Two games? Automatically cut? And all after they relied on him when they could have addressed the position and team with a player that will not let the team down? And, at this point, how can you say it won’t happen? This is the third time he has been punished for it in two seasons. He is what he is. Being on time is one of the easiest things to accomplish in life. Coleman continually not being able to accomplish such a small task after being disciplined for it two times prior to this current mishap tells me something about him. He’s a lazy, self-centered player, and combined with his paltry production, isn’t worth the headache. 1 3 Quote
NoSaint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I’d struggle with the decision to bring him from essentially WR1 by snap count to no jersey at all after a one game suspension for conduct. I know there are various roles and it’s not just plug and play 1-2-3-4-5-6…. but to go from 1 to like 7 instantly for on field performance feels like an indictment of his share immediately proceeding the discipline. it just feels very all or nothing? Like maybe we limit his reps for a stretch? 1 1 Quote

He’s now got these 2 things against him AND new tape showing the passing game opened up in his absence. They’d be stupid to dress him in the face of this empirical evidence. 1 Quote

However, while he was sat, Gabe Davis proved to be a much better option than him on the Outside. And Shavers also took a step forward with increased reps. This week is less about the meeting and more about Davis and Shavers stepping up and improving the Offense. That's the danger of being sat for disciplinary reasons as he was. If guys show more than what you were showing in increased reps, you could lose your jersey. And that's exactly what's happened here. After last week, why would you dress Coleman over Davis, Palmer, or Shavers on the Outside? 3 1 Quote

Also possible they've seen him dogging it in games and up until now (with Gabe), didnt have a better option. At some point enough is enough. For Dion, McD to say what they've said - i think its quite clear there is more than we know. Quote

Certainly could make an argument that Shavers should have been getting more reps leading up to Coleman's disciplinary inactive in Week 11. But for whatever reason, they didn't. Probably just boiled down to them hoping he'd eventually improve on field in his development. The argument is kind of moot at this point though. The bottom line is that we're only going to have 3 Outside WR's up (with Shakir and 1 of Samuel/Moore in the Slot). And when they put Palmer, Davis, and Shavers on the field in Week 11 - the passing game looked *world's* better. To go back to Coleman right now would be to nerf the Offense. As long as Palmer, Davis, and Shavers stay healthy and keep producing - Coleman will continue to sit. Edited 4 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) I think that this is less about discipline and more about Keon being bad. The Bills have been a better when he’s been off the field. I don’t doubt the maturity/effort issues. If he was coming off an 80 catch 1100 yard rookie season, he wouldn’t have ever seen a suspension. I think that he now has 3 including last year? He was trying to vibe with the team and keep them up. He was staying positive. If he were sulking around, pouting, or standing around when his teammates were trying to stay loose - people would have killed him for that too. Feels like people just wanted another reason to be mad at him. No matter what he did, people would have been like "can you believe this sh-t?" Edited 3 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 2 2 1 Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Wr1- Shavers ( next John Stallworth) Wr2- Shakir ( next Andre Reed) slot/ yac guy Wr3- Palmer Wr3/4- Big game Gabe Wr5- Moore Plus you can mix in Ty Johnson once in a while at wr with his 4.3 speed Then you have Samuel & Hardman who can fly that will be back in a week or two for depth Can Someone tell me where Coleman fits in for the rest of the season because I don't see it....
