I think he’s done in the nfl tbh…not even decent enough of a play caller/offensive mind to make up for being an insufferable prick and won’t play nice as a coordinator. 
 

people think it’s just a mcd disliking him thing but I don’t think anyone likes him 😂

winning fixes a lot of attitudes. to say he won't be an OC again is insane.

he has high standards, he's rough around the edges, and he isn't going to be anyones friend...

However holding that against him is pretty rough. The Colts are a pretty loaded team across that offense, especially with the drafting of Tyler Warren. 
 

Not the best offensive personnel but easily a top 10 for RB/OL/WR/TE combinations. 
 

The roster subtractions and lack of additions on his side of the ball fall at the feet of Schoen. Don’t know how he’s still dodging the fire after letting Saquon walk to a division rival for peanuts. 
 

Honestly thought if they were going to make any personnel changes in the FO or staff it would have been him first. 
 

 

I think that's still to come 

 

One thing Schoen has done well is draft. Wouldn't shock me if he runs this years draft for the Giants and is let go right after.  Now, he is the one I hope Beane brings back into the fold.

I love all the people on here hating the idea of bringing Dabol back as if he was a terrible OC. The guy had Josh firing on all cylinders, a dynamic offense with swagger, innovative plays and schemes that actually worked. He literally had us 13 seconds from defeating the Chiefs and a clear run to the SB and people dont want that? You'd rather have Brady and his Pop Warner offense?

 

Fire Brady immediately and get this guy back in!

The Giants were a dumpster fire

 

He now has that experience that he can learn from on a much better team with a top QB, RB, and Oline that he also has familiarity with

 

I think he has the qualities that makes guys wanna play for him and his go out and play loose philosophy also works well with Josh and this team

 

There's concerns, but strong coordinators would make me feel comfortable giving him a shot. I do think he has the best quality in a head coach which is that you are respected and players wanna play for you

Except he has no idea how to be a HC.  Some great coordinators don't have the skillset to make good HC's, they are completely separate skillsets. Daboll may be a great OC, but he will never likely be a great HC.

Kind of like an alcoholic.  Has that anger in him, which is not surprising giving the upbringing.  But he is a good dude, and a super nice guy off the field. Also a loyal guy.  Some people are demanding and tough to work with.  I like guys like that.  And I like Daboll.

We need a fresh start IMO.. New ideas, new philosophies. I appreciate what he did here but it's time to completely move on from this regime.

Literally one of my favorite offensive coaches I've seen in the NFL.   He also brings the type of fire the Bills desperately need right now.

Out of my afternoon walk...

So part of the reason of the fallout with McDermott goes all the way back to Rick Dennison coaching the offense when he insisted on putting Nathan Peterman in after the bills were struggling on offense. The players were against this because they practice with Peterman every day and new he was not better than Taylor. They were upset with this but still let it Go on because it was going to be the Chargers game. At halftime players were texting people about how pissed off they were and then find out that Peterman will start the second half in McDermott did not have the balls to stop at Denison. 

 

Fast forward to firing Denison and getting dabol. He was part of the McDermott process. Accountability. Brian dabol held players accountable and was very tough. 

 

After 13 seconds when Gable was in that whole mix he saw Sean take the play calling of the defense and do it himself from Frasier. Not only that the offense had done their part. The defense was more aligned with Frasier than they were mcdermott, at least some of the glue guys in most specifically Jerry Hughes. 

 

McDermott shows to fire the special teams coordinator after he had said to kick a squib and the special teams coordinator did not get that information to the whole team including Tyler. 

 

There were nearly brawls in the locker room after this.  The defense let down the offense, a theme that would recur the next year as Frazier continued to be the defensive coordinator which was nothing more than an intermediary to McDermott's defense. 

 

During that time McDermott hired Ken Dorsey to replace Dabol. The bills were struggling on offense and there was that players only meeting that supposedly happened but never confirmed. Well I can confirm it. The players met and the leaders from that meeting went to McDermott and asked to have Dorsey removed. They didn't get their wish. McDermott did nothing, as evidence by their lack of faith and effort put in against the Broncos on that miserable loss. The next day McDermott realized his hands were tied and he had to do something. 

 

Overtime the theme continues as McDermott gets guys that only trust his process, toe the line, and those that don't get moved. You'll end up with that Tyler dunne article which was 100% right 

 

And now the naysayers will claim the players admitted they won for coach. Yes, those are the guys he wants, the guys who buy into his program but too often we've seen he doesn't have the judgment, ability nor respect that he needs.

Thanks for the extra detail. If that’s all true, which I have no reason to question you on any of it, then we have a bigger problem and McD needs to go. The guy preaches accountability, but acts like he’s untouchable and doesn’t actually take any himself.

I was happy when he left it bothered me how he never ran the ball and I like Brady but I think we should bring him back. Maybe the combination of these two can get us there.

Klint Kubiak, OC in Seattle, is my first choice. He's got an offense with Darnold, JSN, a RB, and a bunch of JAGs scoring at will.
