This is 100% a Beane PR move to released this information before today’s game and idk why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over it.

”Look, I tried. They didn’t want to trade with me”.

I’d have loved Willams but people are way over rating Waddle. He’s a good injury prone #2. I wouldn’t give a 1st and a third for him.

I’m not sure Brady knows how to use a true #1 WR anyway. He phased Diggs out of the offense when he was still playing well which is partly what led him to his hissy fit which forced a trade.

Williams makes sense cuz they got a good deal from the cowboys anyway…the dolphins turning down the waddle trade doesn’t make a lot of sense to me personally unless Miami thinks they only need a partial rebuild (which I think we all know isn’t true 😂)

It really depends on what Buffalo offered Miami for him. Waddles injury history is concerning. I would guess a 2nd, but Miami turned it down because it is essentially going to be a 3rd.

Reporting is we offered them a third in the upcoming draft and 1st in 2026…seems insane to turn down to me if that’s accurate lol unless they think they’re close in the next couple years

If waddle had been dealt to another team I think id be more angry. I dont think they were going to trade him and were just leading beane on so he didnt make a deal with someone else.

I doubt they would have traded with us, but if that was the only hold up you give them a 2026 1st rounder.

Only way that makes sense is if he’s just straight up lying to the media about the offer which I doubt he is cuz they probably have other sources

the waddle offer was a really good deal that they easily could’ve taken and I’d argue probably should’ve taken tbh.

if it was a ‘make a kinda weak offer just to say you did something’ it woulda been much smaller than that

I mean, if I’m being completely honest, I’m not sad that I won’t have to embrace that stupid penguin celebration in a Bills uniform.

This isn’t information the Dolphins are releasing, there’s no reason for them to.

Sorry, it screams of a PR move from Bills/Beane to release this to say to fans “look we tried.”  But the fact remains they are in this position from moves they’ve made themselves. They had options this offseason that didn’t involve trading at the deadline and try to look good doing it.

Shefter was on radio the other day saying divisional trades like that are just ridiculous and don’t get done. If a player is worth anything they are never traded in division, especially to a team that has owned you. “Here, have our young  #1 WR to get even more dominant!” Would have been elite dumbness, even for the fish.

So you say there were options-what were those options?

I mean it’s hard to trade in division. If it’s true it sucks we didn’t get it done but completely understandable why it didn’t

He’s gonna be like 32 before the dolphins are even done with their next rebuild lol probably would’ve been off the bills in 2028. this don’t trade in the division thing is pretty stupid when you’re blowing up your team I really don’t get it.  Williams with the jets I def get cuz they got a good offer from the cowboys for earlier picks in the draft order but waddle is just gonna rot there

That’s what I’m thinking, beane should also know that this trade would never get done so he can say he tried but it would make more sense to releas the “I tried” details from like an olave deal, at least that isn’t absurd.

Agree that this smells of Beane PR leak.  He seemed generally pissed at his presser like he got totally played.  I’m guessing he was under the impression the Dolphins would trade him to us so he kept focus solely on Waddle.  Then Shaheed gets dealt to Seahawks and Fins then pulled rug rom under Beane.

Waddle point I disagree.  I would definitely give pick 29 and 96 for a WR that instantly is the best WR on team by far.

Idk releasing info that your division rival was desperate for a player and you turned them down in the lead up to your game against them seems like it would give the dolphins some juice and maybe have the bills doubting themselves a bit tbh.  Don’t know what the dolphins gain by not releasing it
