Wasn’t the game rained out in July. He was traded after that day to the Red Sox and played in the rest of the game as a member of the Red Sox a month later when they finished the game. 1 2 Quote
stevewin Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago So funny only a couple years ago all the media was talking about what a juggernaut Miami was and how "unfair" it was that the Dolphins had such unstoppable speed Quote

They were flush with assets and Flores seemed to be building a good culture and they were playing with pride. In 1 season they went from being in the conversation as the worst team ever, to being a somewhat dangerous opponent the last half of the season. Had a couple decent years, and that was it. They went with McDaniel and Tua was a poor choice. They hemorrhaged assets on shiny pieces and created a country club in a place where it is easy for young millionaires to become distracted. Grier's failure can't be overstated. At one point in time Miami had the most first round picks in the league and the most cap space to completely rebuild a team. This would be a good GM's dream situation and all they got out of it was a couple of wildcard playoff appearances and 0 playoff wins. The problem with Flores was that he didn't build a good culture. They had some success in the win column, but half the team hating him and complaining about him. They really had to get rid of him. But failed mightily with team construction. Chubb, Tua, Phillips, and Hill have all cost them a ton of those assets and they have been either hurt or were the wrong picks. 1 Quote

I don't like Brady's downfield passing game. But I do like how many points he's been averaging as an OC, and how few turnovers. Those two things, especially when put together, add up to Ws more than passing yards do. The Bills ALWAYS winning the turnover battle was a huge part of the offense scoring a lot of points last year…now that they are regressing to the mean, which was inevitable, Brady is being exposed. BuffaloBillyG Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This is an excellent opportunity for the Dolphins to right the ship. Get a great football mind in the GM spot. Bring in quality coaches who will bring in great players that fit the system they put in place. But, Ross still owns the team. This will be just another case of them rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Ross is the ice berg. Quote

Brady would be better off taking the Dolphins job. Especially since it sounds like, according to the LA Governor, they wont be handing out a big contract with big buyouts. Quote

At this point, LSU will be lucky to get Paul Randolph. 🤨 (IYKYK...Google it...😁) 1 Quote
JMM Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Diane Russini in the Athletic today( paywall), states that McDaniel is safe, that ownership has confidence in him and wants him to stay. So that's good news...for Bills fans. And no decent GM is going to be attracted to that job with having to be stuck with him and Tua from the get go. 2 Quote

One less division rival to worry about 1 Quote

Any good GM is going to want to hire his own head coach, and it’s highly unlikely that DJ Mike would be anyone’s first choice… Quote
Chaos Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think they owe it to McDaniels to keep him until he has a top 2 or 3 qb plus 6 years. Anything less is simply impatience. 1 Quote

The Frankish Reich Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The guy actually had the Dolphins on the verge. They had one of the best rosters in the entire NFL a couple years ago. They brought in a coach who fit perfectly with their offensive personnel. It turned out their QB was too fragile and probably wasn't good enough even when he was healthy. And then they made the fatal mistake of committing to him financially for the future, watched that roster get expensive and age, and now find themselves in the rebuilding period they tried to deny for a year or so. Compare: Beane, criticized for not going all-in, trying to build a consistent, durable winner. You just can't win. 1 Quote
UKBillFan Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm guessing McDaniel is being kept in place until the end of the year, then the new GM will get to bring in their guy during the off season. 1 Quote

That team is a mess and I don't want them getting that little extra interim head coach boost before they plus us next week. Nihilarian Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago What gets me in all this is that it was the smelly fish owner who opted for Tua over Justin Herbert...can they fire the owner? Quote

If he mandates that, no established GM is going to touch the job. More likely the " interim" GM will then get it because he will go along with what Ross wants. Quote

But neither McDaniel nor Tua will be part of the Dolphins next season. New GM will want his own coach, and they'll trade/cut Tua after June 1. Quote

Now if that holds down the line, who knows. Let's hope so! 😁 Quote
