Wouldn't really be surprised if this happened... I'm also guessing we wouldn't really take on any new salary from Von and since we're already paying him anyway and he can seamlessly slide into this D, I don't think it'd be a bad move for at worst a 4th or 5th round pick.

I hear ya.  I’m good with not giving up a 4th and 5th rd pick.  We landed Walker and Hawes/hancock with those picks this year.  
 

I think shaheed is a better outside fit than Samuel, but I agree, if we’re going to invest multiple picks, I’d hope to get someone better than him.  Maybe we can offer up a 3rd for Horton?  I’d pay that for him

I don't think Cooper was a "whole lotta nothin". Our offense noticeably got unstuck after he joined the team. We probably don't win the KC regular season game without him.

It was kind of bad luck he messed up his wrist, and I'm pretty sure he got a concussions smacking the back of his head on the turf on one of his TD catches. I'd say good signing for good value, just unfortunate outcome with the injuries.

Honestly, it's a case of career longevity. They know if they stay status quo, they can talk up injuries or something and buy another year. They know they have an automatic playoff appearance with JA17. If they go all in and miss it lowers the chance they can buy another year. Meanwhile, treading water

I really don't get the Deebo thing. He doesn't give us the skill set we're missing, he's nothing close to what he was before, and he has a void year cap hit of $12.3M next year... Why in the world would we want him?

Correction.  It's the smart move for the Jets.  Only because they need to blow everything up and start over.

 

It's only a massive win if they use those extra draft picks to land a franchise QB, and then properly build the roster around him.
