Yeah, I'll be honest. His whole persona has changed since getting married. And that does happen. I think with the Hollywood wife, all the commercials and such Josh is seeing that there's other stuff out there than football. It really won't shock me if in 15 years Josh is a major Hollywood movie star. He's very likeable. He just has that "it" quality.

Wait until he becomes a dad.

Have you seen his commercials? Love Josh but I don't think acting is in his future...

i think 13 seconds scarred him because he was an emotional, fiery player when drafted. Since that game it seems like he is just always in his head about something.

I like Josh. You like Josh. We all like Josh. But Josh is a derp on camera. His ceiling as an actor is cameos in quirky comedies.

I could see him being kind of like a Peyton Manning type after his career is over, if he wants it.

Couldn't disagree more. There are a lot of actors making multiple movies a year that are as you say a derp on camera. If you couldn't see Allen in a comedy type buddy cop movie I don't know what to tell ya lol.

If OJ can make it in the Naked Gun movies, Josh can as well

I don't know what the deal really is but there's some truth to it, IMO.

I called him "Cocaine Josh" in some of the games earlier in his career where he'd be erratic on the field and look wide-eyed on the sidelines like the fight or flight sense is at 150% power.  The Bills always lost those games.  The 2023 season opener against the Jets is a case in point.

There are games where you get a sense he's calmer and more focused, and the offense tends to perform more consistently.

On the other hand, there are games where the defense looks like they all just got up from a nap.  Slow and staring out into space.

The best Bills games are where Allen is calm and focused, and the defense looks like it wants to be there.

I've been seeing the same now for a couple of years.

The one time I can remember him getting amped up was that KC 13 seconds debacle.

He's usually sitting alone staring into space.

I believe I heard Bean or mcdermott make a comment about it a while back about needing him to be more of a vocal leader.

Mckenzie basically stated in an interview that Diggs rode Josh on the sidelines for this reason. He was trying to amp up Josh to amp up the team.

Josh has got to be reminded about what got him his Hollywood wife a d all the comercials. It was the fact that he is a Football player, and a darn good one, but it takes so much more to be great than physical talent. The best qbs ever were also leaders of men.

I think a new coach that is a little firey would do the trick for Josh at this point in his career. Daboll used to get in his face when he did bone headed stuff and it worked.

Josh is turned into Mcdermott in a lot of ways, personality wise.

There has been more thousand-yard-stare the bench than I'd like this year. The one we were introduced to during the Texans playoff loss. Wish someone could go talk to him (effectively) during those moments. And they are many, this year.

The best scene in the new Naked Gun movie is the one where the sons of the original cops in the old movie are looking at their fathers' photos on the wall saying they miss them and crying, then they get to the OJ photo:  https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1450662632591588

so i hate seeing josh look sad and lost as we lose, gotta be the worst thing.

that said, i remember when we ditched dorsey for brady (good move).  our like yards and points per game were almost exactly the same after.  we just had fewer turnovers and ran more and passed less.

also, i read that josh has like the exact same (to two decimal places) EPA per play this year as last year through this many games.  this is with kinkaid emerging as more or less the best TE in football so far, and cook being a savage monster.  and our record is what, exactly what it was last year at this time, with almost the exact same two crummy losses with the d folding and the O losing the plot?  while how the points and yard happen change, and we have our good games and bad, the actual consistency of our O and josh is actually insane.  if he's healthy we have just as good of a shot or better as we had in seasons prior.  more than any other, i think this seasons is on our coaching staff -- they will either ascend and show that they are elite or they will falter and remove all doubt that we need to move on.

Cinci playoff Josh- rumors of him cheating and then Digg being mad at him= emotional Josh. Maybe?

Houston last year vs Diggs- Emotional Josh. Maybe?

NE this year vs Diggs again. Emotional

Josh. Maybe?

"low positive Josh" does seem a little like this new "No Super Bowl expectation Josh"

But there's a whole slew of other reasons why Josh is simply a game manager this year.

Right? He keeps posting 40+ TD seasons and winning MVPs

Even in his pressers, he just seems weary.

There is probably some frustration about the team & some of our weaknesses than he isn't expressing vocally.  I know I'm speculating, but the body language just isn't good right now.

Josh is great  but it seems like every year he is changing his mental approach.  Usually the great are all wired to be absolute killers.

Aaron Rodgers is way past his prime so this isnt me saying Aaron is better than Josh, but watching him against the Bengals last week he absolutely lit into one of his running backs for trying a flea flicker.

It reminded me of Quarterbacks like Manning, Brady, Mahomes and Burrow losing it on teammates and coaches alike if they weren't meeting the standard.

I dont know whats better but at times this team looks like it could use Josh to bring up the temperature a bit.   Diggs was good at that but he wanst holding himself to the same standard he was holding everyone else to.

A Josh cameo immediately gets a film a ton more tickets sold

I think the "no expectations" mindset that Josh is trying to embody is an attempt to avoid such a massive emotional letdown at the end of the year if things don't ultimately go our way. It's much easier said than done, and despite how much he tries to act like he has no expectations, I don't think it's going to hurt any less if we get knocked out of the playoffs again.

It must be extremely difficult to have the weight and expectations of a city, franchise, and fanbase constantly weighing on your shoulders, and I think it's taking a toll on him. I think he's more introverted as a person than we think, and although he is excellent at always saying and doing the right things as the face of a franchise, I can see it being emotionally draining to always be pretending to be a slightly different person than who he really is.

Ultimately, he is his own worst critic and is a fierce competitor, and I still believe he has what it takes to win us a Super Bowl. I just hope we can get it done sooner rather than later because I'm a little worried about how the constant letdowns will affect him moving forward.

Deadpanning well written lines with the proper sidekick(s) he would kill
