  1. He was never an A.J. Brown clone. That comparison came from someone who didn't really understand how they each played the game and was more based on their similar size. Yes, Burks has the size/look of a classic X receiver, but he didn't and still doesn't have the skills to beat man coverage consistently to win at the X. He'd be better suited as a big slot.
  2. The Bills wouldn't have been able to fit those guys under the cap irrespective of the trade. The trade actually results in less cap space this season so trading him sooner wouldn't have helped anyway, even if we had the room to pay Allen or Williams.
  3. This guy is a weirdo. He doesn't like people that use utensils to eat. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2023/7/29/23812255/falcons-mack-hollins-eat-hands-soft-atlanta-falcons I hope he can block and be a WR5.
  4. They were both extended this offseason through 2027. I'm not sure why people think we would be getting rid of either of them after this year.
  5. He was picked before us. We didn't pass on him. EDIT: Thread title has since been updated
  6. Ran it once and only once. Bills went 15-2. Started out 12-0. Lost to the Chiefs by two points, and then the Cowboys by three points. James Cook had an eye-popping 2080 total yards. 1515 rushing yards on 306 attempts, and 45 receptions for 565. 14 total touchdowns. Damien Harris also had 123 rushing attempts, with 1060 total rushing + receiving yards. Allen only had 210 yards rushing.
  7. Most leagues have their championship week in the 2nd to last week of the NFL season. Now that there are 18 weeks, Week 17 is the championship week for most leagues. I agree that Week 17 championships didn't make any sense back when there were only 17 weeks in the NFL season, for the reason that you described. I don't recall there being many examples where teams are resting guys in the second-to-last week though.
  8. I would strongly recommend that you push your league/commish to have your playoffs run from Week 15-17 in future years. It doesn't make any sense to have playoffs begin in a week where there are still bye weeks (although I think it's silly that the NFL has teams with byes as late as Week 14 in the first place) because the the exact issue you experienced. You shouldn't have your star players unavailable in the playoffs because of a bye week. I'm sorry that this happened to you
  9. When did he talk about his underwear? He said he had black and gold shorts on.
  10. No thank you. I'm not giving up anything for a guy on the last year of his deal who couldn't get on the field or produce as a 2nd round pick. I don't care what he ran at the combine three years ago. The probability of him coming here and producing in a meaningful way is low. You can draft a guy in the 6th or 7th that would come with a similarly low probability of production, but at least that guy would be on an extremely cheap rookie deal for the next four years. I'm not even advocating for drafting a WR flier in the 6th or 7th round. But if I'm given the option between a guy like him (one year left on a deal, has no production despite draft capital, more expensive for that one year compared to a rookie late round pick) and a late round pick (four year deal, no production either but at least has an unknown ceiling, and a cheaper contract), I'm going with the latter.
  11. I understand what you are saying, but I don't believe that the Panthers are actively looking to cut bait on him. Even if they were, I don't think they would move him for that kind of package (i.e. "taking a loss," so to speak). For them to consider moving him, I think that it would take a return that would be more in line with the player that earned the large contract, and not a return that assumes he is just going to be hurt moving forward. Respectfully, we may just need to agree to disagree. Go Bills!
  12. The Panthers are not trading Christian McCaffrey for Beasley, a 3rd, and a 5th. I was going to say that this isn't Madden, but then I realized that this trade would never happen in Madden either. If the Bills somehow did trade for McCaffrey (as part of a different trade package that would need to include better compensation, and not a 33 year old WR on the last year of a deal), they wouldn't be trading for him to use as a slot WR. Maybe a hybrid RB and WR, but primarily as an RB. Regardless, I just don't see this trade happening in any scenario.
  13. Just an FYI - While Beasley's 2022 cap hit is $7.6M, we would only save $6.1M in cap space because he has a $1.5M dead cap hit.
  14. If we are talking about the same play, it was Gabe Davis. It was initially ruled a catch, but there was defensive pass interference on the play. Upon looking at the replay, it was clear to me that it wasn't a catch, but there was no reason for Saleh to challenge it because even if they overturned the catch, the defensive pass interference would've been enforced and would've resulted in the ball being in the same spot anyway. So Davis got credit for a catch that wasn't really a catch. As some others have pointed out here, the interception thrown by Allen certainly looked incomplete once they showed that other replay angle from behind. The ball seemed to clearly hit the ground and the defender rolled over with it not even under full control. I couldn't believe they let that stand.
  15. The Lions aren't trading Swift. I don't know why anyone thinks he would be available. He's a young and talented player on the 2nd year of his rookie deal.
  16. Hines is a part of the future for the Colts. They just extended him in September, and they know that Mack is gone after this year. Their future is Taylor and Hines in the backfield, and they want both of those guys there due to their differing skillsets. There's no reason why the Colts would want to trade Hines.
  17. In my opinion, it's all very deliberate and purposeful. I don't think he's nervous or anything in front of the camera. We know Josh has a bigger personality than what he showed (just listen to some of his Mic'd up clips), but he is purposely being very careful, polite, and calculated, so that he doesn't cause any controversy. Is it boring to watch for any non-Bills fan? Sure. Is it better than him saying something stupid that can be twisted and made into a story? You bet. He knows exactly what he's doing.
  18. This is just hindsight. As others have pointed out today, Josh Allen had been 13/14 on converting 4th and 1 QB Sneaks in his career, with the one failure being a botched snap situation a couple years ago. The QB sneak was a virtual lock to get the 1st down from a probability perspective. You would be crucifying Daboll and McDermott if they ran an "imaginative" play call like a jet sweep to McKenzie that gets stopped for a 5 yard loss. Just because it didn't work out doesn't make it the wrong call.
  19. No, we didn't. We still had a timeout.
  20. No worries. Generally, the more people in a survivor pool, the more risk you can take on with your picks because there will inevitably be some big favorite that loses and knocks a bunch of people out at once. To win a large survivor pool, you might need to stand out from the crowd. Of course I wouldn't want to take a big risk every week. In a small survivor pool, going with more consensus picks might be a better strategy as others might take an unnecessary risk early in the season and lose. As always, YMMV.
  21. If we were to actually make a trade, I doubt it would be anything more than GB sending a conditional 7th round pick for him, where the condition is that he has to make their 53-man roster.
