Honestly I've always thought Burrow is a little overrated. I'm trying to think of better WR duos in NFL history. None pop up in my head. I'm sure there are some. Can't be many

Swann and Stallworth, Rice and Taylor, The Marks Brothers (Clayton and Duper), Reed and Lofton, Irvin and Harper, Moss and Carter,  Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell, Holt and Bruce and am sure list could go on and on.

I mean, he isn't wrong. Although theoretically if they do well, but not well enough with Flacco it actually ends up hurting them by not giving them another high draft pick so they can get someone like Chase when they otherwise would never have been able to with a healthy Burrow.

They're not thinking about the draft. Mike Brown's got Hendrickson on a one year deal and has an out in Higgins' deal after this year. He was all in for one year before slamming that checkbook shut again. Flacco is only to act as a bridge (a free one at that) to Burrow in December.

Jettisoning a super old backup QB when you know he isn’t the future for any kind of asset when you can get it should not be considered a bad thing.

....and besides,  a 5th round pick is more valuable to the Bills than any pick in the first 3 rounds.

The Browns are a mess right now but just like the Bills for the 17 year drought, they have talent. During their terrible run they had one of the best LTs of all time playing for them. They now have a first ballot HOF DE. 

 

And yes the Bills may not have released a future great QB, but they let Lynch walk out the door and become a star in Seattle and win a championship. And let's not forget about future first ballot HOF Jason Peters getting traded away...

Correct.

 

Weird thing to me is that JA is basically the Bills whole strategy. If he plays lousy, which happens at times ( vs Atlanta for example), the Bills aren't any better than the Browns or Jets.

 

It always seems to me that there's maybe a half dozen QBs in the NFL in any given era that standout, so their teams stand out/contend. We are lucky here presently.

It's true that the trade of Flacco is mostly inconsequential in the NFL but it's still kind of fun to pile on the Browns.

Paying two guys like Chase and Higgins on top of your qb would leave a team with crappy oline and no defense. Your qb would probably be hurt regularly and your defense wouldn’t be able to stop anybody. Like what the Bengals are right now. Would you prefer that situation for Allen?
