Is Joe Brady the main issue on offense?

The Chiefs don't really play us in zone though. They did in the regular season last year - the odd day where we played more man and they played more zone - but generally the Chiefs run a high man coverage percentage against us.

The problem with play action is Josh doesn't like being under centre. I agree they need to throw to running backs more but the fundamental issue remains their skill players can't separate.

Hard to run PA vs a blitz heavy team that plans man. The DBs aren’t looking in the backfield to be fooled and PAs are slower developing plays so the blitzers tend to be all over the QB. Probably won’t see a ton of that vs the Chiefs.

So of course we won’t run PA that often or throw out of heavy sets.

Go to 6.50 Sal and Jeremy talk about different evaluations of offense performance between Joe Brady and McD.  It’s quotes from booths press conferences.

 

McD in press conference credited the the running game to Aaron Krommer.  He didn’t mention Brady.
 

McD said he wanted to be more two dimensional, that he had concerns.

 

Joe Brady “Passing game is great”

”We didn’t pass because we didn’t have to”.

 

I would love to hear conversations between Joe and Sean.  I’m sure Sean told Joe what he expected from the offense going forward.  So this is huge game for Joe Brady.  KC is scoring as much as they ever have.  They invest in WRs, and will torture us with 4 competent WRs.  So Joe, we have Josh and Cook, and we can go toe to toe, no problem.  It’s on you Joe, let’s see what you got.  Are you a great coordinator?  Or are you a fraud?

Hopefully Joe has a big stack of Blitz busters on hand.  He’s had plenty of time since Falcons game to make adjustments

Joe Brady is great 1st drive of each half.  The rest is awful unless Cook can get 6 yards a carry

Brady schemed and called a good game today.

He mixed the pass and run well, mostly called the right plays at the right time, and I liked the no-huddle after big chunk plays.  That seemed to catch KC off guard.
