First question.

How much of this is Beane’s roster or McD?

They say it’s Beane.  That’s what I’m operating on.  Coaching is an issue for sure especially on defense.

But this is 2025 it’s tough to build and maintain a great defense that lacks Hall of Fame D lineman.

And he’s had 8 years to find that centerpiece.

Fail.

Weapons on offense.  He recognizes we needed Diggs.  Then felt Josh is so super human we’re going to go with guys at WR no one should ever fear.

And that along with a bunch of other moves on defense is why this season is about to spiral out of control.  Rapp.  Bishop.  CB2 was going to be a rookie or Tre White.

We banked on Mr. Glass Milano who’s already next to an injury prone Bernard.

Mess.  A total mess of a roster.

CREDIT - he got Oline right.  After 6 years of trying - realizing Quinton Spain was a bad idea.

And James Cook has developed.

This isn’t on coaching.  At least half the league has a better roster than us.  And some significantly so.

Beane and McD are perfectly aligned in philosophy surrounding team building.

It is futile imo to parse out their responsibility. Beane gets the players McD wants or who fit what McD wants to do.

They are joined at the hip. Saying it’s all Beane’s fault or McD’s fault is not close to the truth. They both deserve the credit and the blame imo.

It's hard to say.

Defence- I put mostly on McDermott as I strongly believe he has a big say on who he wants.

Offence- Combination of Beane/Josh/Brady on who they bring in.

Now the big question is- Who's decision is it to tie up all the resources to the defence and mostly neglect the offence..

I think the Oline which wasn’t particularly good today is more of a reflection on Aaron Kromer and his ability to identify players that fit his system more that Beane.

I'm almost positive that McDermott has plenty of pull on who he wants to draft. you honestly think Beane is just making those decisions with no regard for McDermott? Come on man.

Of course McD has a say - I don’t think anywhere near as much on the draft picks as you think.

He tells Beane what he needs then the scouts and evaluators decide who’s the best fit.

And outside of Walker over the last 3 drafts it’s been a disaster.

I'm going to disagree whole heartedly but in reality nobody here knows for sure.

Plus, McDermott often seems reluctant to play the guys Beane drafts

That strikes me as odd, if they were guys he wanted

Time to move on from both

He went from surrounding Josh with offensive weapons to surrounding him with anchors.

Samuels/Moore, stink.  Coleman, stats don't lie.  Kincaid, nice piece, not enough production.  Down to Shakir and Cook (who is a 2 down back lol).

Now contrast that with all the resources spent on the D, and how bad it still is.  More draft capital spent there than on O, and it's not a productive unit.

There is not a single WR in the Top 30!

NONE get separation.

Some can’t catch.

EVERYBODY STARVES!

EVERYBODY LOSES!

This is ALL on Beane Brain who decided to not get ANY help!

What a buffoon!

Because, this is a HS D and it can’t stop anybody.

Everyone is Buffalo needs to call out Beane for his lies about giving him a chance to replace Diggs and get Allen a true #1 receiver.

The AFC this year COULD be without the Ravens, Bengals, AND Chiefs in the playoffs.

Oh and possibly us.  Let that sink in.

You treat every year with urgency.  Every freaking one.

I think drafting and signing only good team first guys who buy into McD’s philosophy is actually a tell on that head coaches lack of confidence in himself. If you’re a good coach you lead everyone and get them to buy in, you don’t do it by default.

Sean McDermott wants miles Garrett he can't get him

He could only get what fits within a salary cap and who Brandon Bean brings in

Sean has maximized plenty of talents and never minimized a stud
