If we had strong ownership McDermott and Beane would be sweating bullets right now and making whatever moves they could to save the season. But I've never gotten the sense that they feel any kind of pressure. I see where you're coming from and don't entirely disagree, but I do think the whole brand new stadium thing does indeed create at least some pressure. Imagine how much air would get sucked out of the room if we get knocked out in the wildcard round or maybe don't even make the playoffs. That is not the kind of momentum you want bringing you into a new stadium and everything it entails. 1 Quote

Tulsabillsfanz Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Changes I’d like to see: -Both suspended d-linemen on the field asap -Trade for 1 LB & at least 1 safety -Get Hancock playing time at safety. -Get Hairston on the field asap -Trade for at least one good WR. -Add some new offensive plays to the play book, especially to counter blitzes. -Dial up some new creative defensive blitzes on 3rd & long. -Play more man & less zone on D. -Sign a better punter. What WILL we change? Probably nothing. 2 Quote

(makes me think thats not where the focus is at practice) but...teams have got wise and adapted. Had The D been called in the first half like it was in the second it might have been a different game but still..... the D stepped up and did its job and the O had plenty of chances....they had 1 1/2 qtrs to score 10 points. they made some of the dumbest decsions at the most important times and it cost them the game. thats not on the D. Well have to agree to disagree because IMO the loss was entirely on the D. That the score wasn't 28 or even 31 - 7 at half was pure luck. The D gave up 335 yards in the first half. As it was the Bills trailed 21 - 7 at half. Your point that the Bills O has been retooled to "force the ball down everyone's throat" is the reason they aren't built to rally from being down 2 scores. Unless Allen plays beyond elite, like in the 2nd half against the Ravens, the Bills O can't stretch the field at all. They also have no effective boundary production either. These are huge limitations and it's easy to see why better defenses have been able to adjust and frustrate this Brady offense. 1 hour ago, Warriorspikes51 said: Gabe is light years better than Keon right now in blocking and ad lib plays As was Mack Hollins last season. 1 Quote
steven50 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Hoecht & Ogunjobi will be inserted into the active roster. Maybe Milano will be back, Gabe Davis will be elevated to the active roster, Kincaid will be back. McDermott will take over D play calling. That is all I think will happen. They should have kept Mack Hollins or Coleman or both. I don't think they will be able to get a WR of comparable quality unless there is a surprise trade that no one saw coming. Quote

I don’t expect it though not to mention we have a desperate need for a CB, S, DT Addison makes a helluva lot more sense for all involved, is younger, easily fit under the cap, and not on a team thinking about repeating. I think its so doable. Beane mind as well make a splash play, what's he going to save picks for someone else? Were one receiver and McD taking over play calling away from still being a SB threat (despite coaching, not anything theyre doing). Quote

But Allen is the reason we have been very good to great throughout the last 5 years. The front office is a joke. The coaches never seem to have the right plan. Its a tire fire. This. Just rip the scab off and get it over. This team was the favorite to win the SuperBowl and looks like the worst team in football. McDermott is terrible and these draft picks are awful. It doesn’t matter who they draft or what free agents the sign, the d line and defense just continue to regress and committing all the resources to the defense doesn’t allow any help for Josh. The Bills won’t get him a wide receiver and instead try to be a dunk and dunk ball control offense. Quote

We can't use both because we wasted capital getting a ***** WR who we call a TE to pretend that he will get LB coverage. Kincaid is good as far as TEs go for catching but we needed and need a WR. It's pathetic. I may be in the minority, but I would give Shakir the wr and move Coleman to the slot... Coleman has zero separation skills. He doesn't run either, he lumbers... Quote

Peace Frog Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago 1 hour ago, Kirby Jackson said: We have reached the bye week. The Bills are at 4-2 and by all accounts, playing bad football. A lot has gone wrong to start the year despite their record. What changes would you like to see during the bye week? The biggest issue on the team today is a lack of WRs. If the Bills are to win it’s because of Josh (who isn’t playing great). Teams now just send guys and leave the receivers in man. The Bills have the worst WRs in the NFL. I’d make a deal for Olave AND a deal for Meyers or Bourne. Those would be my perimeter receivers. I’d send out at least 1 WR in the deal. It doesn’t matter which one. Shakir will remain in the slot. The position group needs an overhaul not an upgrade. Coleman being a stiff hurt. They needed him to be really good (like 1200 and 8 TDs good). He’s not even playable at this point. Next, I’d fire Babich. This whole defense is 🗑️. I don’t have an easy fix there but anything is better. Rush Hairston back. He has to come back and play immediately. Any growing pains will just be regular plays for Tre at this point. Play Hancock over Rapp. Get the injured/suspended guys back. Sign Asante Samuel. All of that combined might make your defense have a pulse. They need to do something rash & quick. This team will not win the division as it currently is and will get bounced in round one. Like Cheech from Bullets Over Broadway says, "This team stinks on effing hot ice!" Quote
Brand J Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Beane got the most important position right and for that I am forever thankful, but I support moving on from him as well if we can promote someone who has a track record of being a fantastic scout (something Beane admits isn’t his background). I’m done with him getting antsy in drafts and moving up for mid players when he does better later anyway. After the season if it’s another failed SB appearance, I’d give McD an ultimatum: bring in a fresh defensive perspective/philosophy or you’re out as HC. Our personnel may not be top 100 players, but they’re also not as bad as they’ve looked. I was happy they finally went to man coverage in the second half, but the blown coverage to Bijan when Bosa was immediately in the backfield was another busted zone. Just man up, the back seven aren’t smart/instinctive/quick/fast enough to run an effective zone. 1 Quote
jahnyc Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I think trading for one or more impact players before the trading deadline is unlikely. Our best hope is that some of the players that have been injured will be back after the bye week (or soon thereafter) and the players that were injured tonight will be ready to go after the bye week. We also will get a couple of reinforcements for our D-line back from suspension. Unfortunately, I am not sure Jones will be back this season if he "popped" a calf and Strong's injury seems murky and serious enough to raise concerns about his return this season or at all. Quote
Búfalo Blanco Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I didn't believe this defense was Super Bowl caliber even before the season... and it looks far worse than I expected. I'm all for trying to be patient with several players out, but I don't know how they fix this run defense. Hell, Tyler Allgeier looked like the Hulk tonight... Quote

It would be borderline tragic to not at least add a receiver. And a receiver that is clearly head & shoulders above any that we have now. There are guys out there. If they're serious THIS year, I don't know how they stand pat. Quote
