BillsFanForever19 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) I don't think he'll be fired. And I've been defending him for a while. But over the past couple weeks, that McDermott Tampa 2 has looked worse than ever (and it's looked pretty bad in the past). I hate to say it, but it's starting to feel like Rex Ryan 2.0. A one time Defensive guru, but after a Decade plus of running the same scheme the league has figured out his system and he's too stubborn or incapable of transitioning to a different scheme. I don't think Zone schemes work well against today's NFL offenses. You need an Elite Secondary and perfect play for it to work. We don't have that. It feels like we have a passing game that doesn't work unless our WR's are going against Zone and a Defense that is Swiss cheese because it runs out of Zone. Just stating a very probable fact that this team is not going to win a Super Bowl this year under McDermott as they are flawed and poorly coached team. One Day you will realize that^ one day you will realize that teams don't win or lose super bowls on October 13th. I have no idea what the future holds but I know this team as it gets healthier will play well. 1 1 Quote

He’s a good dude and brought a great culture BUT he’s not a good NFL head coach. He’s horrible with game management and has no feel for in game adjustments. His teams consistently look flat coming out of long breaks and when’s the last time his defense has stopped a 3rd and long. It’s been time since the 13 second fiasco and every year there’s just more of the same blunders. 3 Quote
harryS Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago McD should've been fired after the 13 Seconds game. Nobody that gutless/dumb will ever lead Buffalo to a Super Bowl win. Beane should've followed a season or two after. At this point (and it's way past due), McBeane just need to go. 1 1 Quote

His philosophy is low scoring, ball control offense with a defense that allows long drives but tightens up past the 40s lol or depends on turnovers 1 Quote
Virgil Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago They aren't going to fire him in season. There's also no one on the team to replace him I tell McD that you have until the rest of the season to keep your job and allow him to pull any levers he wants. If he can right the ship by the playoffs, okay, If not, he needs to go. We owe it to Josh. Quote
TheFunPolice Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago If you love McDermott then you fire Beane. The drafts and FA signings have done basically nothing, to the point that you're going back and signing guys who can barely play anymore but we're good in the past here. They are doing that only because they don't have another idea. That's on Beane. You fire him, hire a GM who answers only to the owner, and see if he can get McDermott better players. 1 Quote

What changes? Every season looks the exact same. Quote
Bray Wyatt Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago We have had 9 years to get his players and his vision installed on defense, and this is what it looks like? Im done 1 Quote
Rocbillsfan1 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I’ve been on that train since 13 seconds. You can’t come back from such a colossal ***** up. Quote
Poleshifter Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago McDermott's "complicated" defense sure allows a lot of points. So what is the point of being so difficult to learn? 2 Quote
JPL7 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Who do people want to take McD’s spot? Gruden Belichek Pederson Nagy Kingsbury Anyone else? 2 minutes ago, Poleshifter said: McDermott's "complicated" defense sure allows a lot of points. So what is the point of being so difficult to learn? THIS!!! Quote

Every season looks the exact same. This season will look different. They wont win the division so at least they get to play a 2nd place schedule in 2026. As an added bonus the Bills will draft in the middle on the 1st Rd instead in the end of it. Quote
TheFunPolice Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago It will get loud in national media. The "they are wasting Allen" narrative was already a thing in recent years. I would fire him, but Pegula never will. So best we can hope for is finding an independent GM who is better at hitting on draft picks and signings. If our DEs could get home or our DBs could cover or WR get open then suddenly McDermott would look better. 1 Quote
