The fan vibes are that brady always had stacked WR rooms because of that short time with Randy moss where they ironically didn’t win a Super Bowl lol. Brady was playing a lot like Josh is right now style-wise with similar wr talent for a lot of his career.  His best wr was  usually a slot guy

💯 his best WR after Moss were Edelman, Branch, and Welker.. best receiving threat was Gronk who IMO is a lock for the HOF. But I’m biased

Lots of other teams pay high priced WRs and have a highly paid franchise QB.  That’s a cop out

Of course there are.  Miami, Cincinatti, Dallas, Philadelphia and Detroit all have QB/WR high cap hits.

That's WR over $25M per year.

Buffalo, Kansas City, Baltimore, Green Bay are some examples of teams that do not.

….and Philly is going to have hell to pay for a while when all those void years and other cap tricks to prolong the magic come home to roost. I know, many would gladly have that problem if they had a trophy. I guess I’m different, that trophy only makes me happy until the next game starts. At least I’m honest about it.

The inability of some fans to handle a close loss to a well coached team with a competent QB and top secondary is bizarre. We used to always lose.

This is an elite offense despite not having a true separation receiver.

This has been the biggest divide on the board over the last couple of years. There are really 2 schools of thought:

1) The Bills are an elite offense despite not having a true separation receiver.

2) The Bills lack of talent at WR will prevent them from reaching their ultimate goal.

Both are perfectly reasonable opinions. The Bills have scored lots of points (supporting group 1). The Bills have fallen short of reaching a Super Bowl and haven’t been able to make the play when it matters most (supporting group 2).

Personally, I fall into group 2. You’ve consistently come up short and you have a bottom 5 WR room with the best player in the world at QB. That makes no sense to me. I believe that elite talent there would turbocharge Josh instead of making him cover for lesser players like he tried to do last week. He ran around, bought time and guys couldn’t get free. It ultimately resulted in a loss.

I fall into group 2 because, philosophically, I believe that the Bills strategy should be, “give Josh Allen everything that he needs first and worry about everything else after that.” The Bills have approached it as, “Josh is so good, he can cover up for lesser players so we will use our prime assets in terms of picks and FA dollars elsewhere.” Depending on which of those 2 you believe depends on if you fall into group 1 or group 2.

The Bills have one of if not the most complete offense in the NFL.  They have the reigning MVP.  In high leverage situations they put the ball in his hands like they should.  I don't understand the mood since Sunday night.  2 fumbles on early downs and a redzone pick. First time they didn't score 30 in a while. If it becomes a trend ok but nothing indicates that will be the case.

Detroit is better. Yeah the Bills have the QB. But their #2 receiver would be the #1 here.

But one of the issues this week was that they did different things and were seemingly way too aggressive on offense.

So you want them to do something different, which is exactly what they did and you are mad they lost because of it but are asking for them to do something different.

On defense it seems they are blitzing like crazy.  They are also playing young players in bishop, logue, jackson, solomon etc.

it seems they are doing a lot of different things lately.

Don't wreck a good rant by pointing out facts.

Have you seen Ladd lately? His stats are in the toilet. He's healthy. Somehow, QB Justin Herbert decided to make Ladd into a WR3.

Another favorite rookie WR from last year, Brian Thomas, Jr, has also been having a crappy sophomore year, too.   One of the problems with WRs is that they are far more noticeable highs and lows than almost all other positions.   Partly it's because of the offensive philosophy of their teams, partly it's because of the QBs throwing to them, some of it is that WR is a tough position to learn, but mostly it's because a lot of top WRs have mercurial personalities -- they are subject to sudden and unpredictable mood or mindset changes.

No its not. We just paid Cook so that's where the money went.

Detroit and Buffalo are the class of the NFL. Eagles have been very bad all year. Colts have played well. Im convinced Daniel Jones becomes Daniel Jones before thanksgiving.  Either way they are easily top 5 and the Bills have a superior qb by a good margin.  Offense has been very good and is multiple.  All of this points to the current philosophy working.

The question is the defense with all of the off season investment bottom middle third is not what the investment was for.  Heck top 15 is an improvement of what they have showed thus far and imo that is a disappointment.  I will hold my criticism until Heocht and Ogunjobi return though waiting for both is a self inflicted wound.

Detroit

Buffalo

Eagles

I put the Eagles because they are the defending SB champions. And they have an impressive track record.

Those three teams look "sustainable". Indy...looks like a good team. But I can't take them seriously unless Jones is doing this in late December.

Sleeper teams to watch out for:

Denver

KC (They move up when they start stringing together consistent wins)

Washington
