Kirby Jackson Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I mentioned it in the Spector thread but it got me thinking. There is a level of arrogance within this regime that could be studied. They will bring back guys that no one else wants, because they know their system. There must be a belief that they are seeing something that others aren’t. The following guys, were here, gone and now brought back occupying a slot on the roster or PS: - Baylon Spector - Tre White - Jordan Poyer - Jordan Phillips - Dane Jackson - Nick Broeker - Gabe Davis I think that’s 10%(ish) of the roster & PS slots. There is not a market for any of those guys with the possible exception of a healthy Gabe. Crazy 4 1 3 Quote

Success Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think "knowing the system" is irrationally high on the priority list when they're looking to add players. 1 8 1 Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Well as long as you know what to do it doesn't matter if you're actually good at it. Plus they say things like please and thank you. 2 Quote
LabattBlue Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I blame McD more than Beane. IMO he is the one making the call on these over the hill former Bills. Edited 1 hour ago by LabattBlue 1 2 4 Quote
AlBUNDY4TDS Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Genuinely interested to see how beane would draft without McDermott. 2 Quote

I think we have to keep in mind that the Bills' GM/HC relationship is not a traditional one. McDermott essentially hired Beane. 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Other teams do this same thing. You just don't know it because you don't follow end of the roster transactions of the other 31 teams. The all mighty KC Chiefs have their former draft bust Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Bills favorite Safety Mike Edwards on their PS (who they had and cut twice). The Eagles can't quit WR Quez Watkins. The Colts keep cutting and resigning Laquon Treadwell. And that's with 5 minutes of searching. 4 1 2 Quote

I just have flashbacks of people racing thru the area where Cole Bishop should have been on their way to the end zone. You have to be in the right place at the right time. He’s improving, I suppose, but it’s far from comforting having him out there. Let’s not overreact and make it too low of a priority, because it matters a lot. I’m sure some guys will pick it up faster than others. Quote

Rigotz Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I have never seen so much attention to and frustration with a PRACTICE SQUAD in my life. In many cases, these are quality veteran backups that are strictly used in case of emergency. They will only play if there is an injury or a series of injuries. What are you expecting from effectively the 4th and 5th string players? Are you really this unhappy with veteran players that at one point had some value as STARTERS in the NFL? Good lord. 3 Quote
QCity Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago They really put a premium on familiarity (also see the Carolina pipeline). It's kinda crazy. Quote
ngbills Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Its because all the ex Carolina players are too old now. Quote

The Ravens, the kid down the street who's always pushing us around, got a new toy today. And our mom went down to the basement and pulled out an old toy from a dusty box and told us "want a new toy? Play with that cause that's all your getting." Edited 1 hour ago by Low Positive 2 Quote
Walking Tall Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I believe that when you run into roster problems (injuries) during the year, there isn’t much to pick from to begin with so why not have players that at least know the system? It’s only a bandaid anyway. I’m becoming very disgruntled with Brandon Beane but I can at least understand the logic behind these practice squad signings. 1 Quote
