Just surrendered his freedom.

If this were Texas or Florida, I would think there would be a good chance the charges would be dropped. But in Indiana, you have to be a short kid from a farm who shoots a pretty jumpshot to get favorable treatment.

I met him at the airport.  Very nice guy.  But drinking does crazy things to people.

Was weird I had just seen his interview with Josh (for Fox sports before last week's game) before this happened.  They were very friendly and joking around - think they used to be neighbors

There’s no chance these charges would be dropped anywhere.  It’s an unprovoked attack on some old guy just doing his job.  The guy defended his own life.

Yeah and I live in Florida... if he initiated this they would be throwing the book at Sanchez...  that said I havent seen the surveillence video... who knows the old guy coulda got crazy and pulled a knife on him for all I know and Sanchez was defending himself... i think they have a video, I havent seen it, but I am certain it will tell the tale...  I try not to jump to conclusions lots of he said she said in the world today...  but if it is as its being reported he gotta a lot of sh@t coming his way.

I don't know about other states but Florida also has the charge of "assault on a person 65 or older"...

every report so far says this did not happen.

anyway, the video confirms this.  that's why the charges were upgraded.

My gut tells me that he was completely in the wrong,  I havent seen the surveillence video so I try to reserve judgement...  so many times I have assumed and made the a$$ U Me mistake...so I take a measured approach with my opinion...  but I trust you here, gonna go look for it... Sad... really sad... for everyone..

He doesn’t really seem to be drunk. He’s not stumbling too much.  I think he was having some sort of manic episode or there some weird backstory on this confrontation that we aren’t aware of.

His only hope is he was intoxicated or on some other drug. Then its involuntary. Await the tox screen which is back in about 2 hours in any hospital but for whatever reason is not released for weeks from the police.

They cops have all the info.  they upcharged him from a few misdemeanors to felony assault after they gathered video and witness evidence.  there's no chance this poor old working man was in the wrong.  he was righteously defending himself.  he tried nonlethal force initially and Sanchez kept at him.  my guess is that this old cat keeps a knife on him because his line of work involves driving to the backs of bars (to empty their filthy grease pits) that are loaded with drunk failbros all the time.

Ol Marky Mark gonna be putting together The Green Machine 3 next season.....

I was checking out the TMZ video and at the point the caption said something like 'stumbling in front of the bar' I didn't see it. He looked 'off' for sure but I've seen (or been) a stumbling drunk many times and the caption came off as typical click bait BS. Not defending Sanchez at all, whether it was drugs, alcohol, meds, a manic episode or something else everything I've read or seen points to him as the problem. Hope the driver has a full recovery and whatever happens to Sanchez he does as well.

If I look at my 'celebrity does crazy thing' plot points, I believe Sanchez will leave hospital, do a big interview where he accepts blame but also lets everyone know he's been dealing with mental health issues for some time. This will instantly make him a victim in the matter and also act as a buffer so anyone who criticizes him will be a biggot who doesn't take mental health seriously.

Then he will announce that he's going into therapy to help him deal with his demons. This will show that he's a fighter who and will provoke admiration from the media, especially fellow NFL pundits who will publicly show their support. He will then release a book with a title that eludes to the incident, as well as his NFL career, something like Jets-it Wound.

Reports say he smelled like alcohol and was charged with public intoxication.

I've been drunk many times and never had the urge to kill a delivery driver. Probably alcohol+ other drugs.
