SCBills Posted Sunday at 09:34 PM Posted Sunday at 09:34 PM Only real takeaway I have from that meh game is that Deone Walker truly looks like he has the potential to be elite at DT with time. 5 2 Quote
DuckyBoys Posted Sunday at 09:35 PM Posted Sunday at 09:35 PM Defense is scary porous Allowed Rattler to operate in relative comfort and control the ball way too much Offense just seemed flat yet still put up 30 That late run down the middle by Josh was the back breaker/smelling salts the offense needed 3 2 Quote

McDermott will not be happy with all the pre-snap penalties. 11 for 55 yds. Of those, 5 were pre-snap penalties. 3 false start penalties (Dawkins, Ferguson, Edwards) 1 illegal shift on Palmer Defensive too many men on field (OUCH) Of interest: Reid Ferguson, who is usually solid AF, was called for a false start once and for offensive holding once. Given that Johnson was actually hit and hurt while punting, I have to wonder if someone on the NO side was jumping the gun and not being flagged for it, and Ferguson was trying to protect his guy. The Defensive too many men on field is bad Lots to clean up. They call this kind of win a coaches dream. Yup you get the dub, but a lot of teachable moments will be highlighted this week. I suspect a much more disciplined team next week. Quote

But we have to remember two things. 1) the Saints are likely the team drafting #1 overall next year. In other words, they are probably THE worst team in the league and we played them at home. 2) We looked sloppy on both sides of the ball. We made unusal amount of mistakes. Even on offense: Josh had the first pick of 2025; Josh is sacked 3 times; we went 4 consecutive drives having to punt. We even failed a short 4th down conversaion. I think fans and McDermott have every right to be upset about the performance. Dude. Josh had a pick on 3rd and 11 from the Buffalo 12 yard line. We would have been punting from our end zone. And did you see how aggressive NO punt coverage unit was being? Reid Ferguson had a false start and an offensive hold. He has 1 career offensive holds - back in 2017. He has two (2) false starts in his career, last one in 2022. Something was up there. We had a net punting average of 36 yds today. Josh's pass was intercepted on the 49 yd line and that's where it stayed. Essentially that pass was a punt, from a down and distance where actually punting might have been problematic today. 2 1 3 Quote

It was their ST miscues against the SeaSnakes that gave Seattle 21 points on a platter and put them deep in a hole in the 1Q, that and not being able to punch it in. Well, their ST came out hot, and they moved the ball on us. We just moved the ball on them better. 2 1 Quote

I think we've had 2 others of those already this season, yet here we are again. This takes me back to the 2023 season where every week we said "McDermott will wake them up after THAT". But it never happens. We'll dick around and then win on being far more talented, especially at QB. And then see what happens in the playoffs when you cant win on just talent alone. Van Demark was a calculated risk to keep as our backup swing tackle last season. He started as strictly a LT, and the thought was he's improved enough to hold down the fort at RT. They may need to re-think that thought. Quote
billsfan_34 Posted Sunday at 09:45 PM Posted Sunday at 09:45 PM Sloppy and at times McD seemed lost. Got the dub. On to the Patriots- Go Bills. 1 Quote

They forget that for well over a decade, the Patriots did this very thing. They would (like the Bills do now) get everyone's best punch. And still find a way to win. I don't mind teams getting "moral victories" against the Bills. I'll be happy with the win in our record. And dont get me wrong. A win is a win, and it was still a 12 point win. 2 Quote

TFBillsfan Posted Sunday at 10:00 PM Posted Sunday at 10:00 PM Just getting back from the game! Great to get the W and get to 4-0. The game felt like a grind but yet the Bills score 31 and win by 12! AJE with two sacks! Cole with an amazing INT! DT Walker looked disruptive Overall, our D looks out of sorts. Another game of bad tackling and too soft of coverage when NO was content with the easy throws. Offensively, Bills made it at times look easy and other times very difficult. 4th down and 1 playcall by Brady was hot garbage! I’m not sure Brady/McDermott actually value a creative playcall. Daboll showed much more creativity. Josh played solid but left some plays on the table. He seems very content taking the easy check downs but can’t tell if the WR aren’t winning. On the Patriots! LETS GO BUFFALO! Quote

I did not like the play call either because I HATE taking the ball out of Josh's hands 2 straight plays when we only need 2 yards... But if Van Demark does not trip on that play there is no telling what could have happened. The play was designed for him to block the man that tackles Shakir in the backfield, and his tripping just completely botched the entire play. Quote
