Bills defense snap count TNF

I think Bosa's snap count is way too high; and I thought Rousseau should be the guy leading DE snap counts, maybe he's dealing with something.

 

Walker only got 19 snaps but I expect the number to increase. 

 

Hope the upcoming Saints game, we kind of semi-sit Bosa, maybe just use him on 3rd downs.

Heard Rousseau had a bone bruise on his knee. Hoping Landon Jackson gets a jersey going forward. Him plus hoecht should ease bosas load

1. Ya Bosas snap count was way too high IMO

3. Deone walkers snap count was low as apparently he was out of alignment on the first couple drives, so it looks like they sat him for a bit

He’s at around 70% of total snaps through 3 games. That’s on par with what Groot played all of last year. I think this is probably where they want to operate. Solomon is not a valid option to play that many snaps IMO so I imagine with Hoecht returning in a couple weeks it’ll taper off a bit.

I'd like Jackson to get a jersey instead of Solomon these next few weeks. Let's see what he can do with those snaps.

I'm not sure 70% is what they had in mind for Bosa in regular season. I can see that number in the playoffs. To me, you want to keep his snap count to be around 50% or below in regular season, or in absolute terms, about 30 snaps a game. Watch his brother who was getting 50+ snap counts until his injury.

 

Solomon is something worth watching the next 3 games. He's a run liability out there. When the PED guys are back, they probably need to ship out someone from DL group. Solomon is high on that list.

Pretty sure there was an injury of some kind. He played 100% of the snaps through the first 2 games.

Why not? 
 

Through 3 games, that’s his average. It’s slightly lower than what Groot played last season. Bosa historically has played ever more snaps on average, upwards of 90% at times…so even the 70% is a decrease than his career average IIRC.
 

It’s been awhile since the Bills have had a healthy, viable option opposite Groot, so imo it explains why we’re surprised by the high number. I think we’ve become accustomed to seeing the the DE rotation with the likes of Smoot and Epinessa splitting snaps. Before his injury in 2022, Von was regularly playing 70% of snaps.

 

It’ll be interesting to see how that might change with Hoecht returning in a couple weeks

I’m with you here but idk how they make the numbers work unless they find someone else to take Solomon’s reps on teams. He is covering kickoffs and punts, and Landon Jackson will not do that. So if this were to happen, they’ll either need to dress 5 DEs or someone else will be absorbing ST snaps and idk who that’d be
