He just ran way out of position and got no where near the ball carrier What? To me he WAS impressive in preseason. When the two are back from suspension, maybe the Bills can finally stop the run. And hopefully Rousseau has a few splash games as he is invisible now... yet the Bills are still winning. 1 Quote

It was his best game in a long time. Yeah that was pretty encouraging, I agree he hasn't looked like that in a while 1 Quote

Over the course of the year for us to win it all. Quote

He played a ton of snaps against 2nd and 3rd stringers and his stat line is pretty empty. I honestly only recall seeing him flying way up field and getting nowhere near the qb. Like 5 yards deeper than the QBs drop. Quote

I also think once Hoecht is back you see AJ Epenesa get traded just my opinion It's pretty common on this board that folks think players they don't like somehow have tremendous trade value to other teams. This is the last year of Epenesa's contract. Players on the last year of their contract generally don't have tremendous trade value unless they're "that special player" the other team sees as the "missing piece" this season. If he's not a special player here, why would other teams see him that way? Epenesa was a 2nd round pick and if he's not in the Bills future, he ought to bring a compensatory draft pick. Vested veterans don't typically come down with "mysterious injuries" that put them on IR. That's for drafted rookies who would otherwise be cut and have to compete for a PS slot here or elsewhere (instead of getting the higher rate of pay on the rookie scale and having a "home"). Why would Daquon go along with that, in the last year of his contract when he probably wants to show that at 34, he's still got some decent play? Edited September 21 by Beck Water Quote

Why would Daquon go along with that, in the last year of his contract when he probably wants to show that at 34, he's still got some decent play? I even stated to another poster he doesn’t have much value due to his average play and being in the last year of his contract. I said I’d be looking for a 6th rounder for him. It’s more after Hoecht comes back he doesn’t really have a spot in my opinion. I’d rather see Solomon and Jackson get reps in the # 4 DE spot than a guy we won’t be bringing back who is an average player. As for Jones, his play has deteriorated, it’s more of a wishful thinking for sure but I suspect that Jones is retiring after this season. The Bills drafted two young DTs for further proof of that. Jones is from Central New York so I suspect he would rather retire than pack his bags and move for one more year. By him going to IR (again wishful thinking) the Bills can keep him around to mentor, let his body get a break for 4 weeks, he’s still getting paid his full salary and can come back if the Bills get an injury at the position. FireChans Posted October 2 Posted October 2 1 hour ago, Bob Chandler's Hands said: James Cook seems to be working out. Yeah he is. He was also kinda red shirted. Most teams expect their day 1 and early day 2 picks to play and contribute immediately. I mean, we are drafting guys to start at the end of the first round. Why would teams picking 6-10 slots later think, “this guy needs a year to figure it out.” Quote
balln Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago 4 solo tackles. 5 assisted. pretty disappointing 2nd round pick that we moved up for…. 3 1 Quote
MDH Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago You bumped this to trash a guy who was injured and since he’s come back they have him playing out of position at DE because they’re so thin there? Odd choice. 3 4 Quote

balln Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Me posting his actual stats - and saying the production is disappointing is “trashing” him? Weird fact remains if we’re gonna go get the chip we need some of these 1st and 2nd year players to come through ! 1 Quote

He just got back from a mid-season knee surgery. Lately he's been playing out of position at DE on a number of snaps. He's played a grand sum total of 8 games and again, has dealt with a knee injury. He was the 41st pick in the Draft. Have a little patience. People act like all Rookies come out of the gate playing like veterans. For most, it's a learning curve that can take a year or two before things slow down. People were ready to cut bait with Cole Bishop not too long ago and look what he's turned into after a year and a half. 1 Quote
