Augie Posted September 14 Posted September 14 It may not be cider, but it’s pretty funny. Lipton Ice Tea had a small tent, a fenced off area and VIP Potties for the opener right in front of Hammers lot. I was semi-curious, mostly about the potties. I actually got a pic from someone of how relatively pristine they were, with the emphasis on relative, of course. OK, that makes me a bit more curious, just for the sake of knowledge which may be valuable in the future. I wander up to the entrance thinking the guy wearing the black SECURITY shirt must know something. I was wrong. I asked what does it take to use the VIP potties. “I have no idea.” OK, I’m thinking this might be very good information. Mr Security tells me Lipton has some new alcoholic beverage they were looking to rollout and promote….. but nobody got a liquor license in time. OOPS! Sucks to be That Guy. Mr Security didn’t know any more details. They just paid him to stand there. 😂 Quote

Which is funny because Twisted Tea was in front of the Bills store with the other vendors, serving samples. 15 minutes ago, Joe Ferguson forever said: is it fun? place I was at today was full of kids, dogs and nice people. we'll be returning. I've only gone for concerts, so I'm not sure how a normal weekend crowd doing tastings might be for them. Edited September 14 by Just Jack 1 Quote

Mike in Horseheads Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I knew a guy that used to make homemade. It was basically moon shine Quote
BillsPride12 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 My favorite late Fall/Winter time tailgate beverage is apple cider spiked with Captain Morgan and heated up on the grill Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Oh man, memories of my youth on the east side. The local candy shop/five n dime would let gallons of cider ferment out back and they'd sell it to us delinquents. We'd empty a big packet of Wyler's (a competitor of Kool Aid) into that plastic jug and shake it up before we drank it in some alley. We'd all end up throwing that vile concoction up. 🤮 Anything for a cheap high. 3 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 In later years, I have come to the conclusion that my mother and / or brother 'forgetting' that jug of opened sweet cider in the garage was no accident...🤔😁 1 Quote
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 My grandfather had one of those old fashioned apple presses. We used to make our own cider back in the day. Had my share of hard cider as well. Quote

T&C Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Genesee Farms used to sell hard cider in a gallon plastic jug like is used for milk... talk about a horrible hangover. On a side note I can't even smell Genny cream ale with out feeling a little nauseated. Quote

They were in Durham and now bottled in my town. They're not in va yet. But they're across the border. Edited September 15 by boyst Quote
Jauronimo Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I'm a fan of what this place has produced. https://www.fingerlakesciderhouse.com/ The dry, more champagne like ciders made in the european style are excellent. Quote
