Tre.  If both healthy, I want the guy w experience that’s proven he can perform at a high level in the NFL.

I want the guy who doesn’t run in cement

I voted for Tre because I'm voting for a fully healed Tre.  I'm voting that Tre has returned to a level he hasn't touched in years.

But if my vote doesn't make that happen, I trust the coaches to play the best man.

I chose Strong because he seemed to do OK and wonder if TW is best to come in if Strong struggles. I like the idea that more reps will improve DS’s play.

However, if the Bills think TW is the best option to play, then I have no reason to doubt its the right move.

love me some Tre White, a seminal player for this era of the Bills, the first draft pick and defensive star under McDermott.

But he has not looked like a starting cornerback since before his second injury, the achilles, and even then was clearly diminished by the first major injury, the ACL

Consistency is key at that position and not allowing the big play.  I have no confidence White can do either of those things consistently any more.  If true, and starting, that would likely mean he would be easy pickings for a slew of the high level quarterbacks they play this year.

No thanks, not worth the risk--if what we have seen of White the last few years is what we will get. And that inconsistency was a hallmark of his play this off season--sometimes good, solid, but too many break downs.  Not a starting corner if what we saw is what he is now.

So, Strong, and hope he gets better each week until Hairston comes back.  In the end, if Strong can hold down the fort, they would then have a reliable back up too for the rest of the season.  As Tre White transitions into a coach on the team he loves and who loves him back.

White is a reserve. He’s earned that, which is awesome really. The Jets game is the PERFECT for Strong. Benford will handle Garrett. Jets have nobody else. Stuff the gaps, make Hall bounce outside, and gang tackle him. Hit Fields as much as possible. Strong won’t be isolated with a touch WR matchup so he can show what he’s got playing the run.

Based on the opponent, I’d prefer Strong start this week vs the Jets.  He’s a better tackler and I expect the Jets to focus on the run, screens and short pass game vs our D.  I also think strong would be more effective getting Fields down on his scrambles.  The Jets WRs look to be Wilson, Tyler Johnson (who I like more than most) and Lazard. Stick Benford on Wilson and I don’t think those guys would be able to take consistent advantage of Strong in the pass game.

On top of that, after missing 3 weeks of practice, I don’t think 3 days of limited practice is enough to get Tre back right.

That said- I believe McD will start Tre if he dresses

Dorian Strong all day. Get him crucial experience in these early games that can benefit us greatly down the stretch. Coast on the offense while the defense works out its kinks.

Plus, you never know who’s going to pan out or not. Hairston could bust and Strong could be the next Benford for all anybody knows.

Strong is the superior player, even as a rookie. Tre White was benched by the rams last year; they even paid him to play for ravens. He is a stop gap player at best. He’s a great teammate no doubt, but he suffered two extremely serious non contact leg injuries in the last three years. He is not the same player who once played a rough brand of one on one defense. McDermott, in his wisdom may play White, as once played Humber instead of Milano. But it will cost the team touchdowns .

Plus the fact that the odds of Tre being healthy come playoffs are slim and Hairston may not ever be up to speed this season, he may very well be our CB2 when it matters most
