Jackson will most certainly be elevated from the practice squad for week 1 and will be your likely CB2. The cut makes sense. He's an easy guy to stash on the practice squad and his experience in the systems means he can be elevated and start in a pinch — but he doesn't take a jersey away from someone like Shavers.

Still 2ish weeks.  If White and /or Hairston can practice this week or the start of next week CB is not as dire as some thought.  Nobody wanted Jackson lining up with Benford vs Baltimore.  This imo is a good sign.

There has been no indication that Hairston and/or White definitely won't be playing in two weeks.

If Asante Samuel Jr is that good then he would have been signed by now, he's probably hurt and it's a risky injury that people don't want to give him top dollar for it. Not sure he's worth the risk.

Yes. Unlikely that someone claims him though. He would have to be added to that team's active 53-man roster.

There’s no question Hairston won’t be playing, given that he hasn’t been able to do anything other than ride the bike. White, though, has been a mystery. 
 

I actually think the bills are just adding Dane to the PS and calling him up for the first few games. Otherwise, cutting him doesn’t make sense, and I doubt they are going to sign someone off the street to the 53 at CB at this point.

Well, I guess we disagree there. The very reason I thought he’d make the 53 is because he is a great STer who can also fill a backup role on D.

Jackson lining up next to Benford vs Baltimore is a nightmare scenario imo...

I am  good with Dane being gone even with injuries at corner. The first “minor” surprise to me is I thought Shenault would win return job over cordington. Neither has any value at position but if ever was plan Z, I rather see shenault at WR than cordington at CB

Shenault was horrible in ST coverage in that last preseason game. He missed on 2 if not 3 tackles on different kicks.
