Ciarlo drops 10 pounds play him at safety or nickel.

I get what you mean, but these guys are in peak physical form. As a lesser personal example fro

my own collegjant career when I played ball, I was actually faster my junior year weighing an additional 10 lbs than my senior year. I tried to shave some weight and it only brought my mass now, but did not add to my acceleration or top end speed. It’s a lot about body composition. To think he’ll shave 10 lbs and be meaningfully faster is not practical.

I think McDermott would like his safeties to be a bit better at man coverage.  He's good in zone.   Of course, Hamlin can't cover either.

The hiring of Maddy makes no sense to me. Male or female, doesn't matter to me - there are a ton of female reporters/talk show hosts who I think are great. Maddy has marginal, at best knowledge of the game, and brings nothing to the broadcast. I listen to WGR a lot but every time she's on, I turn it off.

She is god awful. Anytime I see her, I automatically turn it off. Everything she says is so forced and scripted. She has no knowledge or recall of the game or the bills in general.

Field goal kicking is 90% mental.

Only once you have impeccable technique and leg strength like NFL kickers. At lower levels of football it is definitely a physical thing as well.

Dane has been toast.

Hes getting cut IMO anyhow.

Even with Tre banged up, Dorian and Ingram higher on the depth chart IMO

He's not going to be cut. I think it's more likely he's Starting Week 1 than not being on the initial 53. With Hairston likely to go to IR to Return and White possibly missing the 1st week or more, they aren't going to roll with just Benford, Strong, and Ingram as their only Boundary CB's.

Anyone want to give those of us who couldn’t catch the game the highs and lows? Thanks in advance! (Not sure why I said that, I’ll thank you again after you post it).

Just tuned in and went back on ESPN gamecast to see who did what.  Read the play by play on the two Bills touchdowns, but what I found interesting was it says: "Z.Davidson punts 62 yards to TB 12"  I suppose he was struggling catching passes, maybe this is his new way to make the roster.

TE3...emergency punter...why not?

Gotta be somebody’s cousin or something. Terrible

Jordan and Poyer are both yes.  They played CB before becoming safeties.  Everyone else since are a hard nope.  That's why I was so happy to see Hancock get a look at safety.  He's at least played nickel and safety.   I can't think of any DB's we have that are "good" at man coverage.  Benford and that's it.  Hairston and Hancock should help us be better in man situations and I think White can hold down the CB2 spot but if we go man we're asking for match up problems.  Strong was drafted as a longer CB with press man skills but I haven't seen anything that makes me think he's going to pull a Benford and be starting as a rookie.

If the decision to name Josh Allen's backup were to be based on play in the preseason games, Shane Buechele wins the competition hands down.  It looked as if Brady was given the freedom to be a bit less vanilla this week than in the first two  games.

Walker was in the backfield all night.  Coverage was tighter and tackling was pretty good.  Shavers made a circus TD catch.

Which is why it’s reading too much into Buechele’s play tonight.

Mitch will be #2 and White will be #3

You know you're in a thread that has 30+ pages about the game that you're asking about, right?

TE3 did not punt tonight, TE4 did and he’s PS at best

Davidson did make a strong case for being named to the PS though.  He and Latu are pretty similar as pass catchers, but having an emergency punter available on the  PS is kind of a unique bonus for a team.
