Thankfully, the Bills had to play 2nd and 3rd stringers to look that bad.....in the drought-era that would be how the 1st stringers would've looked!!

After the 6+ years of success the Bills have enjoyed, I had almost forgot what a bad Bills team looked like. That game was a not so subtle reminder of how good we Bills fans have it right now!!

It reminded me to enjoy the ride, and not ever take for granted how good it is to have a top-tier team to root for!!

Go Bills!!!!!

Im with you on focusing on the brighter and right perspective is to look at the bigger picture of what is was…

The only thing that bothers me is in terms of the price tickets are nowadays, there’s some people who those preseason games, due to location as well, are the only Bills games they can attend. Many of them take their children.

The product, even if it is preseason and meaningless on the actual season, was an embarrassment to any fan putting time and energy on watching the game. Especially those who put up money to spend the evening attending it.

No. Not even the drought Bills were that bad. I had flashbacks of watching the 4th preseason game back when we still had those and just how silly and useless those games were to watch. They were meaningless, and this game was meaningless as well.

Well, you should know the risks when purchasing preseason tickets and going to those games. Buyer beware.

You know there’s going to be some brutal play. But that bad? No. No reasoning for half measured play.

I’ve been to around 10 preseason games and the consensus about those is it isn’t about the win but watching the competition and effort the guys playing for a job display. Honestly, there was far too many moments of modest effort.

Some teams have performed that badly in regular season games. It sucks to watch, but that is football. Sometimes the games suck. That's just baked into the nature of the game. Fans aren't entitled to a high quality performance by their team. The NFL itself does everything it can to provide an exciting product, but that doesn't always happen, especially in preseason.

No.  The drought era Bills rarely got blown out.  The only one I can remember is one year we were 4-3 or something and thought we might have a chance to be decent. Then we played the Cheats on MNF and got totally trounced.

For most of the drought Bills were never as bad as Sunday night. We had a lot of 7-9 teams that kept us in QB purgatory

Than there was the 14 year drought in the 70s.  Lots of 2-14 seasons

Between some of the guys appearing to just go through the motions, and some other flailing desperately about but being completely physically outclassed, yeah, that was tough to watch.

Lol, yes. I was joking with my brother and sister about it. Said I was feeling twitchy and it was bringing back repressed memories.

We agreed it meant nothing but it is funny you said this.

I remember getting hyped up for so many bills patriots games only to lose 48–10

Then that one time we beat the pats in the season opener 31-0 and we thought everything changed.   Pure fool's gold

Yes and even McDermott mentioned the main reason. He talked about trenches etc... but he really made a point to say when your combined QB's have a rating in the 50's and the opponents QB ratings are over 100,  it's going to be ugly.   We are lucky to have Josh Allen, he masks everything even the D.  The Bills QBs on Sunday night are what drought era QB'ing looks like.

No Josh Allen, no starters, that's what happens.

The players that were out there Sunday night looked tired and disinterested, for guys trying to make a football team it was shocking to see that. I get that it's only a preseason game but preseason games exist to get your team prepared for the regular season and to figure out who your backups are. I don't think the coaching staff learned anything re-watching that mess other than we punted well.

Wasn't there a thread about the same thing last year after the Bills lost to Chicago 33-6 in the preseason.

I searched for the game thread from last year's preseason game to compare over reactions of doom and gloom from a meaningless game, but it looks like it was deleted.

Everyone had the Bears winning the division and the Bills not making the playoffs after that game.

Go Bills!!!!!

Or worst the flip side.  We blow out a Super Bowl contender in preseason.  They rested all their starters and we played ours.

Multiple bubbles bursted Sunday night.  Corner, Te, linebacker, dt, Qb and Wr all shrunk in numbers. Meaning fewer guys are still fighting to make the roster.  I think Cb Jackson played his way out.  Codrington is not a viable player on defense.  Shanualt or Hamler could be the returner and offer more on offense.   Te is Knox, Kincaid, Hawes.  Buffalo Joe is a core teamer only and played his way to the bubble.  Top 5 DT jones, Oliver, both rooks and Carter.  Trubisky is the back up.  I would not  be surprised if a different qb is on PS.  I think Shavers and Moore swapped.  Shavers a core teamer and adds some size and juice outside.  I could see Hamler as punt returner and back up to Shakir or Moore is on the roster and they keep 6 but doesn't dress.
