Well at least Samuel can run in straight lines now 🙄

We can’t cut or trade him but we sure as hell can leave his ass off the active roster on game days (assuming we can’t justify IR). Only seven months until we can cut bait. What a waste!

Fully agree. As soon as the money part makes sense, he's got to go.

You guys are panicking like the Bills play a meaningful game on Sunday. There are still more than 4 weeks until they do that.

The ONLY guy I’m panicking over is Bishop.

I think Samuel will need to go, older can't stay healthy. Beane is going to have to get someone else in here.

Honestly, at this point, I'd rather roster Shavers than Samuel. Samuel just cannot seem to stay healthy.

That said, I haven't heard a peep about Elijah Moore since his injury, and I can't help but wonder if he's not the roster lock people seem to think he is.

Coleman
Palmer
Shakir
Shavers

Samuel
Moore

Would seem to be the six, if they keep six.

In any case, McDermott's comment about Shavers sure doesn't make it seem like he's a player they're about to cut. You can only sneak a guy like him onto the practice squad so many times before he gets scooped off waivers.

I totally disagree.  I thought Samuels added juice at the end of last season that I dont see Shavers adding.  I love shavers and am happy to add him as WR6.  However, in no world do i want him on the field over Samuels if both are healthy.  I get its frusturating that he cant stay healthy but they are likely saving him for when it counts.

To me roster decisions should be about play on the field (where Samuels >> Shavers) and contract decisions is where health enters the equation (wouldnt be surprised if shavers gets a tender next year and samuels is cut)

I dont think youre serious but considering people think Shavers is better use of a roster spot than Samuel then they would have to agree with this too.

Bishop has got to get back out there.

He’s becoming the only piece im worried about capping the ceiling of this defense.

Rapp is injury prone as well, but is a solid to above average safety.

Our CB situation with Benford, Tre and Taron looks really strong.

Milano/Bernard, again with the health question, but when healthy might be the best LB tandem in the NFL.

Revamped DL with a ton of talent and potential.

Just holding out hope Bishop can get back on the field so we’re not capped with replacement level play from Hamlin all season.

Not sure why you say we can't trade him unless you mean no team would pull the trigger based on his contract. I absolutely think it's possible they find a way to trade Samuel. Actually, the only thing that would surprise me is they were to cut him. I could see a trade, placing him on IR, or expecting he'll be healthy and a solid contributor.

I love Shavers and would be very happy with him on the roster.  One play in garbage time does not show me he has more juice than samuels.  Bills would agree as they continued to play Samuels after this play.

Are you saying this play puts Shaver over Samuels?  The juice that Samuels provides that I dont/havent seen from Shavers is getting open downfield (this is literally Shavers only target/catch in the NFL).  Taking a screen to the house against the blitz is great but is something Samuels also does.

Again I love Shavers, but considering him a better WR than Samuels is silly.  Reminds me of folks who had Moore as more important than Palmer this off season.  Sheesh.

My biggest concern is the reliance on older, injury prone players- namely Tre, Milano, and Bosa.

Next year the Bills need to rent an Olympic size swimming pool and have training camp in the water to avoid all the leg injuries.

Samuels would still pull his groin......and hamstring

I understand what you're saying and respect your opinion, but...

Curtis Samuel had 253 yards and 1 TD in the regular season last year. Yes, you can argue that that was because of health, but the best ability is availability.

He had games of 9 yards and 4 yards receiving in the playoffs (and yes, a good game against Denver).

He has posted more than 600 yards receiving ONCE, and it was in 2020.

I think his name and the IDEA of what he "could" do is more enticing to people than what his actual production -- both as a Bill and in the years preceding it -- have shown. I agree that game production should mean more than camp production, but currently, Shavers is showing major camp production while Samuel is once again on the sidelines with an injury. What if Shavers shows out in the preseason and Samuel is sidelined?

Ultimately, it's likely a moot point, because Samuel's dead cap number this year would be large if cut, and his contract is structured for 2026 to be the more likely "out". He'll most likely be making the roster.

No. I am just showing he has a burst as well. You're reading wayyyyyyyy too much into a simple post. Sheesh.
