Maxx Crosby AAV is ~ $37.5/year. 

I like Crosby overall more, hes elite pass rusher, better in the run game, but Micah's pass rush ability has higher ceiling/output.

When you consider the "next man up" way elite contracts work (especially premium position).... i see him dead middle between Max and Myles..... 

 

~~$38/$39m per year.  IMO, definitely no more than $40m.  Getting matching $40m wouldnt shock me.

 

When you get over the sticker price, it's the 2nd most important position in football.  Its a passing league.  He gets sacks sure, but he generates pressure fast!!  Important against the Mahomes/Tua quick release types.  NFL salary cap is booming year to year.  In 2 years, nobody bats an eye at that deal (barring catastrophic injury).

He’s getting more than $40m.  Garrett turns 30 in December.  Parsons just turned 26.  He’s just entering his prime years, and he’s got a clean injury history.  That’s a unicorn.

Their LBs at the time were even lighter than ours too. So we game planned running at Parsons and hitting him with an additional blocker, or running away from him and leaving him unblocked and using the blocker elsewhere.

And it's Jerry Jones. He overpaid Dak due to waiting. Now he's going to have to overpay Parsons who can already command a huge number. I agree it will be $40+, if for no other reason than Jerry will botch it to that level.

Would I be ecstatic if we landed Parsons - yes.  Do I think it will happen - no.  Also don’t love some of these over the top trade offers being thrown out either.  
 

But most importantly - I doubt he leaves Dallas.

I’d be against it too if Beane hit big on at least a few other blue chippers besides Allen. Rousseau is probably his 2nd best first round draft pick given position and production. Would you trade Rousseau, Edmunds, and Elam/Kincaid/or Oliver for Parsons? I know I sure would.

"In a statement posted on Twitter, linebacker Micah Parsons tells the team — and the rest of the world — that he wants out.

 

“Yes I wanted to be here,” Parson said. “I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet. I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this Americas [sic] team once again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, PA.

 

“Unfortunately I no longer want to be here. I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization[,] our fans and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me. I had purposely stayed quiet in hopes of getting something done. But since there is confusion out there let me clear some things up.

“I had my agent reach out to the Cowboys last off season after my 3rd year in hopes of getting a deal done early. Unfortunately the team did not want to start any negotiations at that point. I was ok with that[,] didn’t complain and focused on the 2024 season. After the season I told my agent once again to let the team know we were open to negotiate when they met at the combine. My agent informed me I should wait for other deals to get done because the price would only go up but I didn’t care and wanted to secure myself as a Cowboy long term. This was before anv of the other pass rushers deals got done this off season. I knew I would be leaving money on the table but again I was ok with that.

 

“Again radio silence as far as my extension. In March I met with Mr. Jones to talk about leadership. Somehow the conversation turned into him talking contract with me. Yes I engaged in a back and forth in regards to what I wanted from my contract, but at no point did I believe this was supposed to be a formal negotiation and I informed Mr. Jones afterward my agent would reach out thinking this would get things done. But when my agent reached out and spoke to Adam he was told the deal was pretty much already done. My agent of course told him that wasn’t the case and also reached out to Stephen Jones. Again the team decided to go silent. At that point we decided we would allow the team to reach out to us whenever they decided they wanted to talk. Yet still not a call[,] email or text to my agent about starting a negotiation. Up to today the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about a contract. Not one demand has been made by my agent about money[,] years or anything else.

 

“Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.”

I like the idea of three 1st round prospects on cost controlled deals though more than anything..

Cook isn't a difference maker he's easily replaceable. Cook is a product of Josh Allen nowhere near a difference maker.

I remain skeptical he gets traded at all - but reading this, well this feels like a guy who really is done with an organization.  But that still doesn't mean it isn't fixable, money talks, just look at Myles for example.  

 

Would I love to see Parsons on the Bills - of course.  Do I think its realistic (assuming he was actually traded) - not really between the cost to acquire and the cap implications.  Would I rule it out - no, Beane has proven to find ways to make things work when he wanted them to.  

 

But I am also pretty excited and optimistic about our existing front 7 and don't feel as desperate to a deal like this like I was before the draft when guys like Myles, Trey, etc were allegedly available and wanting out.  Myles > Parsons too as he can defend the run and is less of a PR issue without the podcast.  So not sure I would be stoked about some of the offers people are proposing in this thread.

But why?

 

Since the Bills have been a double digit win team every year, our first round picks have been Rousseau, Elam, Kincaid, and Hairston. 
 

To me, this is the classic, “Micah Parsons is potentially a HoF DE in his prime, but a first round pick could be anything! It could even be potentially a near HoF DE in his prime.”

 

This isn’t a Myles Garrett or TJ Watt who only have a few great years left. Micah may play at a very high level nearly as long as Josh will.

Gonna Be interesting to watch this one play out. Will Jerry Jones tactic of slow rolling contracts to Keep Cowboys at the front of the Sports News world finally backfire with Parsons. 
 

 

By talking to friends that have a very good pulse on Dallas. It does seem that this trade could happen. 
 

has to do with the following according to them. 

1. his podcast - Jerry doesn’t like it 

2. Perception from them he wears down late in season (not a cowgirl watcher) so cannot validate 

3.  Massive liability against the run - according to them.

Cap space is manipulated. Out teams can have multiple high cap players we can too. I want multiple titles Parsons would greatly help that venture
