Could have used your help about ten years ago.   One of my hobbies is writing.  Always wanted a vintage typewriter to work on smaller pieces.   My laws bought me one for Christmas but it didn't work.   Never had a chance to actually use it.  Sold it before I moved into a new house about 5 years ago.

If you ever want to get back into it, shoot me a message. Curious why yours didn’t work, was it an electronic typewriter?

I think it was mostly user error.    It wasnt electric.  It was a 1940's era Royal.   I kept running into an issue with the mechanical mechanism getting stuck/locked up during use.

Aside from getting bossed around by two small humans all day, I play guitar, read/collect comic books, find cheap shiny Bills cards to collect, used to collect Funko Pops but just don't have the space anymore and have been slowly leaning out the collection, follow the Bills via this board and reddit and typically SMH at some of the opinions/expectations lol, and then I like AEW (newish pro wrestling company). What a dweeb.

Random factoid, perhaps you did not know.

It is quite common in baseball a right handed player who bats left handed.  But it is ultra rare, in fact only 1 player in MLB has been left handed and bats right handed.

Yeah ironically I'm the first and of course Rickey is the latter.

My hobby is being a dad. I've got 5 kids. I'm blessed to be retired at 43 and coach most of my kids sports teams. My number 1 passion behind the Bills is turkey hunting.

I hear you about room for Funko Pops, me and the wife have just over 300 and we've kinda stopped getting anything new unless we find one that we can put out during the holidays.

1) I play a lot of tennis and have since getting out of college and moving to a resort community. Great exercise and sense of community.

2) I go out to lunch every day and read a book. I miss the book table at Costco, but I’m learning to deal with Barnes & Noble efficiently.

3) Golden Retrievers. I am currently on Goldens #7 and #8, probably my final Golden.

4) See #3, I vacuum a LOT!

On the wish list, I’d like to add traveling much more since the wife recently retired.  So far it’s been mostly smallish type trips and we have WNY (including Watkins Glen and Niagara on the Lake) for the opener next month and a Nashville trip in October. We are looking to add a more significant trip for Christmas and/or next spring, but no details there yet.  We really want to fly out Christmas Day and let that become an exciting tradition rather than the two of us being sad at home alone together. We have found that to be a weird time that could become an opportunity for something great.

Reading - I started using the fable app after my wife showed it to me. She reads a lot (50+ books last year) so I started reading more too. Fable lets you track your days reading and how many pages, ratings, etc. I'm on a 200 day streak of reading a little bit each day. I'm only 14 books read this year, but its been nice reading again. Haven't really since high school because in HS, reading became HW

Video Games - Mostly on my Nintendo Switch, but I also have a PS4. I found out recently you can borrow video games from the library and I have been trying some out to see if I like them before buying. Saves a ton of money

I have an Aerogarden in my basement so I try to grow various things. Currently have peas, tomatoes and jalapeños growing in one system. Then some lettuce, basil and spinach in another

Besides that, I have two little kids who occupy most of my free time

Now that I can calm down about Spencer Brown's back, maybe we can take a break from training camp news and share a little about ourselves

My hobby is fine woodworking.  I grew up watching Norm on the New Yankee Workshop and just as he did over time I've gotten to be a solidly above average woodworker. I moslty make pieces of furniture and the occasional small box. I have also done some turning on the lathe as well. My favorite woodworker is Garrett Hack but I've found inspiration in many others.

What is your favorite hobby?

I like to go to Furry conventions dressed as Billy Buffalo.

I have no musical talent but I built a Fender Stratocaster guitar from scratch for a friend!  A YouTube guy from Australia helped me me along the way with tips and tricks via email.

What type of medicine?

What kind of woodworking do you do?

I'm getting seasick just thinking about that trip!

Nick Offerman has a book about building a canoe.  I may try that one day.

Thats awesome that you built a guitar!  How'd it turn out?

Probably needed a good cleaning/flushing. That solves about 95% of typewriter issues I’ve come across.

My hobby? Hating the Dolphins.

Mike McDaniel just the most bizarre press conference, regarding Tua and Tyreek relationship “relationships are not built in a vacuum of dandelions and daisies”. What ever that means it is not good. This is going to go badly.

Cars & Bills!
I have a Dodge Challenger show car. Attend Barrett-Jackson and good guys Winternational events every year.

I also collect and restore vintage slot cars. Revell, Eldon, Strombecker, etc. I collected parts and old cars / race sets for 30 years. Now that I am retired, I have been restoring them. Fun hobby with help from my grandson.

i Hit TBD every day. Watch every Bills game ( and several more every week) And even got SeriusXM just to get the NFL channel. So football news is available 24/7 , at home and in my car.

LOTS of musicians here! I too am a fellow musician. Bassist for the Buffalo area band Boomerang. We know how to stuff ballot boxes, as we won Best Classic Rock band for the All WNY Awards 2 years running. This takes up most of my time. Rehearsals every week, with gigs every week from the second half of May, until last night. We have a 2 week break which is very welcomed. Then back to back gigs end of August. (Wingfest and Dwyer's).

I also cook dinner for my wife a couple times a week. My wife and I also love to travel. Golf is something we wish we could do more of. If I'm not watching Football, I'm watching hockey, golf, some baseball, and home improvement shows with my wife.

A welcome thread on an off day, Ethan, thank you.

Like Steve Billieve, I play a lot of chess, although, oddly, I now prefer online correspondence games (i.e., one day per move) to over the board games. They're more like a puzzle to solve at my leisure than a tense battle. (I like the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle, too.) Doubles tennis, squash when I can, pond hockey especially. I'm by far the oldest out there every year, but I can still hold my own, at least in my mind.

if you on the Chess.com app my username is puzzlestjb always looking for new people to play
