ChevyVanMiller Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Says that players from up to half the NFL teams were involved. Hopefully, no Bills on the list. "At least 100 players from roughly half of the NFL's 32 teams face fines and possible suspension for allegedly selling their allotted tickets to this year's Super Bowl LIX above face value in violation of league policies, multiple sources told ESPN. Under an agreement between the league and the NFL Players Association, players who violated the rule will be fined 1½ times the face ticket value and lose their allotted tickets to the next two Super Bowls. If they are playing in the game, the players will have the chance to purchase seats. Those who decline the punishment could be suspended by commissioner Roger Goodell, league and union sources with direct knowledge of the situation said." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45823371/sources-least-100-players-face-penalty-super-bowl-tix Edited 14 hours ago by ChevyVanMiller Quote
uticaclub Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago If you sold the tickets for twice their face value, you still made money. So, even though you won't be able to get tickets for the next two Super Bowls, you can go to a party instead. If that's the only consequence, I probably would have done the same until I got caught. 1 1 Quote

thronethinker Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) I understand the NFL not wanting players making money on tickets, but for the League to suggest they are protecting the interest of the fans is laughable. The NFL is partners with resale companies that scalp and charge ridiculous fees at the expense of the Fans. Edited 10 hours ago by thronethinker 2 4 1 2 Quote

machine gun kelly Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago These morons should be suspended for four to six games, lose their game checks, and publicly punished in the media with Goodell warning them a further infraction will be a year suspension for players, and immediate termination for team employees. 1 Quote

I'll be waiting a while on that answer... Quote

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure the players pay face value for the tickets, so assuming they sold for 200%, and paid 100% originally, now have to pay 150%, they are down 50%. Quote
Augie Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The NFL can go pound salt until the visitors are allowed shade on hot days anywhere a game is played. Player’s safety is involved there, so I don’t care what they do with their allotted Super Bowl tickets. The NFL should lose the right to fine anyone until that is fixed. They can’t claim the high ground on any other stuff until they clean up their act. Quote

I didn't really care about the shade situation, but ruling that the team in the sun can't have those AC misters on the sideline if the shade teams eschews them is ridiculous. It's like they don't remember the Korey Stringer incident at all Quote
GuardianAngel Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago It really says something when even the players in the league don't want themselves or anyone they know to sit through another chiefs superbowl. Quote

It's like they don't remember the Korey Stringer incident at all it’s a multi billion dollar franchise. anything the home team installs, both sides should get access to. because the home team picks their sideline the visitors should get to travel with whatever they want. Let terry p finance any type of shade/cooling he wants to pay for on road trips. It’s a sliver of the paychecks at this point. This isn’t 1970 and only the well to do franchises could afford portable shade options, 1 Quote
