Miyagi-Do Karate Posted yesterday at 06:45 PM Posted yesterday at 06:45 PM Looks like the packers think he can help their defense as a coach. I do know as an offensive coordinator, he was really good at helping the opposing teams’ defenses. So I think they are onto something! https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45813182/nathaniel-hackett-rejoins-packers-help-defense 1 13 1 1 Quote

transient Posted yesterday at 06:50 PM Posted yesterday at 06:50 PM Makes sense. He certainly demonstrated in his time with the Jets that he knows how to shut down an offense. 6 2 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM Posted yesterday at 06:52 PM It's official. Green Bay has become the 'Kruger Industrial Smoothing' of the NFL, and they've hired their Costanza. 3 Quote
RoyBatty is alive Posted yesterday at 06:59 PM Posted yesterday at 06:59 PM The coaching in the NFL is so incestious it is rediculous. 1 2 Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted yesterday at 07:05 PM Posted yesterday at 07:05 PM I mean he certainly knows how to make a defense look good: coach offense for their opponents Alternately: Good for him. Running a defense is something he's never done before but the same could be said about running an offense Quote
Buffalo Junction Posted yesterday at 08:19 PM Posted yesterday at 08:19 PM They’ve done this before…. Hire a former O or D coordinator to work with the opposing side and help prep the unit while assisting with the scout team they’re going against. It’s not the worst idea if ownership has the cash. Plus, LaFluer gives buddies - like Salah - soft landings. 2 1 Quote
Yobogoya! Posted yesterday at 08:28 PM Posted yesterday at 08:28 PM He knows a thing or two about how to generate interceptions. So that’s a plus. Quote

The Cincinnati Kid Posted yesterday at 10:21 PM Posted yesterday at 10:21 PM (edited) Why did the Packers hire Nathaniel Hackett to run the defense? Because after watching his offenses in Denver and New York, they realized he’s great at making sure no one scores. 🔥 Edited yesterday at 10:21 PM by The Cincinnati Kid Quote
Old Coot Posted yesterday at 10:27 PM Posted yesterday at 10:27 PM Wisecracks aside (& I enjoy reading them) this actually makes sense. Who knows how offenses exploit defenses better than an offensive coordinator. He may even have inside info on how other O coordinators think. The proof of the pudding..... 1 Quote

Hackett basically has a job because his dad was Paul Hackett. guys like steve belichick, Bobby April Jr., Kyle Shannan, Sean mcvay— all got into the NFL because of their dads. Some of them have proven they belong— but it sure helps when dad makes a few calls to get you onto an NFL coaching staff when you are 22 years old. Quote
