The Bills will wear their red helmets for the Week 18 game against the Jets to celebrate the final regular season game at Highmark Stadium, allowing fans a chance to relive the nostalgia before Buffalo opens new Highmark Stadium next year.

Also, so Mitch Trubisky can spot his receivers easier in the lake effect snow as the Bills have clinched home field advantage by then 😀

The Bills will also bring back the 'Standing Buffalo' throwback uniforms twice during the 2025 season. These vintage uniforms, with the bold, red Buffalo silhouette on the helmet and classic jersey color scheme, are a nostalgic nod to the Bills' rich history and passionate fanbase.

Buffalo will wear the throwback jerseys with the standing Buffalo helmet for their Week 5 MNF at Atlanta and Week 11 vs. Tampa Bay. The Falcons already announced they will be wearing their red-helmet, black-jersey throwback uniforms against the Bills.

Iconic. Best helmets in ALL OF FOOTBALL. I’m hoping this will become a permanent mainstay.

Only for Week 18 when starters likely won't be playing

They are wearing throwbacks for games vs Atl and TB though

The final regular season game ever at the Ralph. Very nice. (Hopefully the last game ever is the AFC Championship)

First regular season game at the current stadium in 1973 vs the Jets and now to close it out 52 years later with the final regular season game vs the Jets. I wonder if that was done on purpose.

What if they're still unbeaten?

At least the Jets are relevant on one thing over the last 50 years

Sweet.

I can't wait for Josh to take 3 snaps under center with the Reddy on, including a 5 yard swing out pass.

Everyone wants to see Mitch do 60 downs with that bad boy on his dome, along with 50% of the 2s ad 3s, on the final game of the season.

Oh well, it will be good to see it again.

Go Bills.

Imo the bills should be wearing the red helmets for the opener against Baltimore. I get why they're waiting until the last game but, they should be doing this for the opener also

Happy they are bringing the red helmet back and the standing Buffalo helmet but have to say this is a half-assed effort by the Bills. Why only the white AFL jerseys? and why is one of the games on the road? Why no 90s throwback jersey paired with the red helmets? Also, as other have pointed out, wearing the red helmets for the last game when the starters are unlikely to play is lame.

Ugh.

Once is fine. The whites look so much better.

They should have had the team come out in them tomorrow and announced it as they were starting practice.

I agree, once is fine. I’ve never understood the love for the red helmets, the reason for their existence was idiotic. It was because the AFC East had too many teams with white helmets. Red helmets were supposed to cut down on interceptions, who came up with that concept? Then the Bills lost four Super Bowls in those helmets. They wore them for most of the drought. The standing still red bison is the best logo ever, it is the only sports logo with visible genitalia.

That’s actually really cool.

The standing buffalo are only for a few games.   Does this mean we’re going to red helmets all year?

No it literally says the last regular season game of the year

They clearly should have done it week one Sunday night football to kick off the final season in the current stadium, not in what will likely be a meaningless game vs a bottom 5 team. But whatever, I'm learning that I care about helmet color much less than the average Bills fan.

Last regular season home game ever is pretty iconic

Well I believe it was only used for 2 years of the drought.. then we went to those ugly jerseys during the bledsoe years

Went back to white helmets in 2011, drought 2000-2017.

Well you did say wear them for most of the drought and lost four super bowls in them lol and the Jim Kelly uniforms got retired after 01

Edit: gotcha you were talking specifically just the helmets not the total combination

Those jerseys from 2002 to 2011 even though they had red helmets were a different color combination than the super bowl years

Easily the ugliest jerseys in build history

84-01 were those Jim Kelly uniforms.. then the drought uniforms of 02-10

I don't really consider the Kelly uniforms drought era since they only were 2 years of the drought with the

full uniform
