Big Blitz Posted Thursday at 07:21 PM Posted Thursday at 07:21 PM (edited) Per community notes - Pullman to reprise his role as Lone Starr. And his son is going to be in the movie. Edited yesterday at 03:15 AM by Big Blitz 4 3 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted Thursday at 07:27 PM Posted Thursday at 07:27 PM But...Mel Brooks was President Skroob. Pullman was Lone Star. Plot twist? 🤔 1 Quote
Gregg Posted Thursday at 07:50 PM Posted Thursday at 07:50 PM If they do this then hopefully it is good. Usually, sequels bomb from the original. Caddyshack to Caddyshack 2 or Grease to Grease 2 as examples. The only sequel I thought was better than the original was Terminator 2. Both were good movies, however. 2 Quote

Some of the recent nostalgia sequels have been pretty good. The new Beverly Hills Cop: Axle F, Top Gun: Maverick, Ghostbusters: Afterlife were all entertaining. Maverick might be better than the original. Nothing gets made today without attaching the movie to proven IP. As long as Mel Brooks is involved, I think it will be decent. 2 3 Quote

Oof, that was downright painful, and really tarnished the original for me. Anchorman 2 after the opening scene was an extremely hard cringe too. 😬 Edited Thursday at 08:45 PM by UConn James 2 Quote

Brit Posted Thursday at 09:25 PM Posted Thursday at 09:25 PM It has been so long since I watched this I will have to stream it. Plenty of good sequels out there over the years, as well as abysmal ones. So it will be interesting to see where this one goes. (In addition to the others mentioned I would include as good sequels: Star Wars ESB, The Dark Knight, Godfather 2, Guardians of t G, Bladerunner 2049) 1 Quote

I just about went to Cameo and had Tim Russ record a personal message, "We STILL ain't found crap!!!" 😁 * Sadly, no John Candy or Joan Rivers to reprise their roles. 2 Quote

It wasn't all recycled jokes, which is usually why comedy sequels are bad/stale. Quote

Godfather II is arguably the greatest sequel ever. Quote
Logic Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago The biggest win of this movie happening is Rick Moranis un-retiring for it. Absolute comedy gem. For anyone unfamiliar with his work prior to the 80s/90s family movie era....the dude is a legend. I'll watch it for him alone. 1 1 Quote
bills_fan Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I mean...Godfather II, Rocky 2 and Empire Strikes Back were the greatest sequels ever. Joined recently by Maverick. For this, I just hope its funny and original. That would be a big W in my book. Quote
