And the Lord said unto them....

He was lucky to apparently avoid circulatory and nerve damage unless they haven't told us yet

Genuinely looks like something where your leg would be in danger of being lost. Even if it heals right I see lifelong pain, and deformities seem like a real possibility.

I could see something it turning into something that degrades to the point where it needs to be taken in the next 10-15 years and x surgeries trying to get it fixed.

Crazy to think about but there are plenty of people who have gone through that, and the day they give up the limb is a relief for them.

I've never seen a player to be so happy as they are being carted off the field with a career ending injury.

He must have a ***** ton of insurance on himself for injury.

Which makes me ask the following questions.

What are the cap ramifications now for the dolphins?

Will Tyreek personally receive more money from the dolphins now due to injury guarantees in his contract?

Why else would he be so damn happy to destroy his knee..

It came across is incredibly toxic, like he was such a victim having to be there, with all the dysfunction. Hes the only person on earth to not realize problems have always followed him everywhere he is.

Yeah it was so odd.

It was like he was the beauty queen on the float waving to the crowd goodbye

My first thought was he must be thinking about how much money he is getting.

I believe players and even teams take out policies

I think it's really nothing more than he wanted to show he was ok so it didnt bring the team and fans down, but he doesnt have the mental/emotional maturity to know all he had to do was a simple and strong thumbs-up. And he probably knew it was bad and didnt want to show it. So what we got was that weird, awkward "celebration".

I’ll believe it when I see it.  His whole game is about quick agile cuts.

Same - what else would Rosenhaus say ?

Shock is a real thing and people react to it differently. He didn't look like that a couple minutes later when they were taking him to the hospital. I don't like the guy, but that reaction wasn't him thinking about cashing checks.

It also indicates once again that NFL players have EXTREMELY high pain thresholds. I would have been in a clinical state of shock if that happened to me.

It depends. The Saints lineman who got carted off was yelling loudly enough that I heard him in section 311. Not kidding.

That's what I was thinking, even though I didn't actually see him heading off (quit watching when I saw his leg sideways thinking it was going to be a long break).

Did they have time or cover to jack any needles into him on the sideline?

Maybe he was just flying high 🤷‍♂️

Not that I noticed. Adrenaline is a helluva drug.

Rosenhaus doing the typical agent bullcrap tour.

Quote

Rosenhaus said Hill's surgery "went very well according to his doctors."

"It's about rehab, and he will play next season," Rosenhaus told Schefter. "The realistic goal is the start of the season."

The "realistic" goal is the start of next season. I'd bet a large sum of $$$ that ain't happening.

It def depends on the person.  I got 2 fingers mangled in tablesaw pretty good didn't really phase me until I got home and it started throbbing. I've seen ppl get a cut that might need stitches and almost pass out.

McDaniel is the epitome of the fact that some coaches should just remain coordinators. Not everyone who is a good OC or DC should be a HC. Xs and Os are an only small part of the gig. Not all are built for it. So many examples of this.

The thing about McDaniel is that he really only had one season of experience as OC with San Fran.  He had 5 seasons of run game coordinator working next to Mike LaFleur.  He might be an example of a guy promoted too early beyond his experience level.

It's interesting.  I think McDaniel, while not a serial bellower as Daboll apparently is, has succumbed to some of the same problems of picking the wrong coordinator and also being somewhat dealt a raw hand by player personnel decisions about who to retain and who to move on from.

He never called plays in SF, even in that one year. There were a few years in the NFL where everyone clamored to hire anyone with a little gel in their hair who once got a cup of coffee for Shanahan or McVey. Two of those guys, McDaniel and Zac Taylor, are now in bad situations where they are in over their heads. Bobby Slowik almost followed in their path. Then Slowik got canned in Houston, because the league got wise about these young "offensive geniuses.".But did you know that Slowik is currently the "Passing Game Coordinator" in Miami? How about the fact that Ken Dorsey is the "Passing Game Specialist" in Dallas? The list goes on. These guys never leave the game, no matter how poorly they do. And if they do flame out, they just go back to college. Rob Ryan, of all people, is the assistant head coach for defense at USC.

I was wondering about the surgeon who performed the surgery.  Don't top arhletes normally pick one of the leading surgeons in the country do do their surgery- I assume in this case they needed to act swiftly, wonder if it was just whatever surgeon was on call or if they had more options to try to get at least a top local guy (especially since it seems like it was more complicated than a run of the mill ACL)

In this Youtube video the doc anayyzing Tyreek's injury explains why he thinks the turf at Met-Life stadium contributes to serious player injuries (think OBJ's injury).

He explains at 6:45 of the video.

Why mention this here? Because the Bills play at least once a year in that stadium.

The new Bills stadium will have natural grass which is more forgiving.
