Tush Push vote failed. Still a thing

What’s the problem with this play? I see nothing wrong with it.

The Tush Push is a football play.  It's weird that it would be banned to be honest.  The Bills used it successfully more often than not.  If there were crack back blocks and leg whips, etc.. going on I can see it being banned.  But it's just large men pushing other large men to advance the football.  That's a football play.

Funniest part is the pushing of the tush isn't even the key to its success and is mostly irrelevant to whether the play succeeds or not.  Its what happens up front and what your QB does that determines if its likely to succeed or not, and THAT is what the Eagles are better than everyone else at.  

Bills are easily 2nd best at it. Ppl just remember the KC game, other than that it has been automatic these last 2 years

As a purist and traditionalist, I agree.

But, it is what it is, and when it comes right down to it, it's ours against theirs, as it is with every sub-unit on each side of the ball.

If a team wants to use a pile of humanity advancing the ball forward, the other side will just have to have a bigger and stronger pile of humanity in order to defend it. 

When the day comes that high profile QB gets seriously injured (costing the NFL ratings and $$), that will be the time the league will consider banning it. Money is the thrust behind most league decisions. 

Before the tush push, Tom Brady's scrawny little arse used to just get low and under the center when he needed less than a foot. He must've had the timing down perfectly because his win percentage was incredible with that move.

No need to ban the play. Just tell the refs to call the false start that happens EVERY TIME the Eagles run that play. Problem solved.

Good question,  I really don't know, but still looked like Josh got it on that 4th down , which totally changes the game 

 

But ya I was shocked as well, really good preparation by Spags, nobody stopped us like that. Assuming they gave us some unique looks, that was very impressive

Nah instead let's keep running Josh over the left guard for the 5th year in a row. It's not predictable at all.

Does the play remaining legal help the Bills? Of course it does. The Bills are only second to the Eagles in using it, and are almost as effective as them at the play. It gives the Bills an advantage, so I am all for keeping it.

 

The reason people want it banned isn't because it's not a football play or leads to more injuries (it doesn't); it's because it's basically unstoppable if you have the personnel. A play should be able to be schemed against, and the Eagles' version of the play is basically unschemable, defensively. It can't be stopped. That's why it's problematic. There should always be a defensive answer to a particular type of play.

It's on the defensive coordinators to figure out a way to stop it. Remember the wildcat? That was unstoppable until defensive coordinators figured out a way to stop it. 

 

Hell, the Chiefs stuffed our attempts multiple times. I don't think it will last much longer as defenses start to finally figure it out. 

The Chiefs stop ours when we were too dumb to actually push the Qb. Also Chris Jones was not only in the neutral zone, he move early on at least one of his stops which was ignored by the officiating.
