Why are there so many WNY'ers in North Carolina?

My cousin moved there as a young adult in the late 80's from Fredonia since he said he heard they had plenty of jobs, whereas the job outlook in the Southern Tier was bleak.

Because haven't you heard that 98 degrees with 90% humidity and basically having 2 weather seasons is so much better than Buffalo? Plus in Charlotte you could be impacted by a hurricane! They're way less destructive than a snowstorm 🙄

P.s. I live here lol

She's in Greenwood ... we joined a group for the Washington game a couple of years ago and that was definitely the way to attend an away game. Simplified the ticket purchasing process for us. I would love to have info for the Columbia group!

It's a FaceBook Group - Bills Backers of the Midlands (can't post a link for some reason).

The time of Western New York's demise go inside it with the rise of North Carolina, the infrastructure of North Carolina was primed for growth. Charlotte unfortunately did not plan far enough ahead unlike the Piedmont triad. Raleigh is just a mess.

Raleigh and Durham both a mess unchecked growth and no infrastructure.  thousands of homes and town homes going up in southeast durham and barely 2 lane roads to support them.  Plus inadequate fire, police, restaurants etc.

I live in Charlotte but was out of town the day the schedule officially came out.  Friends were telling me local news and radio was specifically imploring Panthers fans don't sell their Bills game tickets.

They know......

Interesting take.  I've lived here since '98 and can't say I agree.  I'm on the border of Durham and Chapel Hill.  Does any town ever get the roads right before the population explodes?  Kinda just the way it is.  Restaurant scene in Durham and Chapel Hill is excellent.

Durm is the benefit of Duke, the best school in a 15 mile radius.

That western area is well organized for commuting compared to the northeast, laurinburg area, and wake Forrest. The south is just now catching up. With Sanford growing fast and now the Disney village just south of the RDU that area is going to continue to explode. If you haven't heard of the Disney village, just wait.

Also the high speed rail system between RDU and CLT is going to get the commute via train in under 75 minutes is the goal.
