With the addition of Moore, I think the Bills are middle of the pack in the NFL. Low ceiling but a high floor.

Add a legit #1 and it would be perhaps the best in the league or close to it. That's the goal for next year, in my opinion. But we'll see how the season goes.

If Coleman takes a leap this could be an extremely good corps, with so much versatility.

I expect Coleman and Samuel to both take a big leap

As a group, Palmer and Moore are MUCH better than Coop and Mack, so a group that averaged 30+ ppg only got better

Really hoping same for Kincaid,  he hasn't been close to living up his draft pick but we'll see how he progresses. Makes that Knox contract many on here have been upset with look alot better, Knox is very good.

Anyway, I love the depth for WR/TE. So much versatility,  they Quietly got better!!

I'd like to see Coleman take a step or two up this season and be a reliable WR #3. Same for Kincaid: be a consistent target. Love Knox as a teammate and he makes some acrobatic catches but I don't think he's a consistent threat. Samuel has a lot to prove later in his career. Moore I think can get use 600 yards of so because he's done around there many times before.

I think we have two good and reliable options right now; would like to see four.

Honestly I think the drop off is after Shakir. He’s the only definite in this corps but I agree on the order and I’m hopeful Coleman has an epic sophomore year

Lol I mean if we’re doing guys we should have on the team let’s just go last year:

Shakir

BTJ (1st round)

AD Mitchell (2nd, oh no Bishop)

Troy Franklin (3rd, not Carter so sad)

Flowers (trade up a pick or 2 for this dude over Kincaid like I said in 2023)

100% agree Nacua was in play. I dunno how anyone could watch Shorter play football and think that dude was an NFL WR. He wasn’t even a college level WR 🤮…all in all the scouting department for WRs needs to be overhauled

Shakir- break out 1000 yard season if he stays healthy

Coleman- will be given every opportunity to step up

Palmer- 12 million

Samuel- if he stays healthy

Knox- better complete player than kincaid

Kincaid- can't stay healthy, can't catch, horrible chemistry with the MVP. Bust candidate!

Moore- TINY, there is a reason he is on his third team in 5 years

One thing that has stuck out to me here with this thread...too many people sleeping on Keon.  I do get it to an extent, he regressed significantly returning from injury. But his pre injury performance is better than what people remember, ESPECIALLY when weighing the context of those games.

Hmmmm...maybe this will lead to a "Calling it now" thread, the wheels are turning haha...stay tuned lol

Shakir - Mr. Reliable

Coleman - Will grow as a pro and improve immensely

Kincaid - Gets back to his effective role as a hybrid WR / TE that creates match-up problems

Palmer - Revives his career under Josh

Samuel & Moore - Equally Situational contributors, good options, but not great

Knox - Mostly a blocking TE or injury "next man up"

Based on passer rating when targeted in 2024(pro football reference)

108.8  Khalil Shakir

 93.9   Keon Coleman

 88.2   Josh Palmer

 84.7    Dalton Kincaid

 79.3    Curtis Samuel

44.5    Elijah Moore (191 of 192 NFL pass catchers)

I don't know that there is less subjective way to rank them.   They have different roles in a passing game.   Passer rating basically measures the juice derived for the passing game when you are targeted.

I think that's also a near ideal scenario for how many targets they would hope these guys earn in 2025.

Knox only had 35 targets so I deemed the sample size(and projected usage at half the targets of Kincaid) was too small to rank him but he was at a decent 94.4.

As noted,  Moore was one of the very least effective WR's in the NFL last season.  He ranked 191 of 192 qualifying receiving targets.   Brutally bad.

Shakir(47 of 192) is the only one of these guys who ranked top 100 in the NFL last year. 🤢

And for people who want Palmer or Moore adjusted for having different QB's..........that's not really the way it works.    There were more than 70 receiving targets who had a higher passer rating when targeted than Allen (101.4) and Herbert (101.7) had as passers.    Obviously Shakir is not better than Allen.   The Bills targets beyond Shakir are all players most teams would want to be 3rd to 6th options in the passing game.

This is actually a tough exercise.  We have a middle of the pack receiving room, but that suddenly changes if any combination of the following occur:

-Palmer is the guy Beane thinks he is

-Kincaid makes a jump

-Coleman makes a jump

-Samuel stays healthy

-Moore finds early chemistry with Allen

Don’t think we have a WR1 but if all goes according to plan, good luck stopping a laundry list of WR2/3’s with a strong running game.

I honestly feel bean wouldn't have signed Moore unless he felt Moore upgraded the top of the line up. I truly believe if Colman doesn't improve he will be demoted. Bean made it clear he wasn't happy how he handled his injury.(Whatever that means)

The good news is the bills have options. If everyone ups there game and Moore is the number 4 on the depth chart we are in great shape imo.

Why so low on Palmer?  Maybe you’ve explained previously, but I missed it.  The guy knows how to get open.  I don’t why how anyone could out Keon over him (and I like Keon more than most).  Palmer is a MUCH better route while also being faster.  Similar hands

We’ve yet to see Palmer play a single game for us. He could be great, he could be another Curtis Samuel. He hasn’t earned it yet..

Yeah I think it's very unlikely that Palmer is "great" though.   Because he has already played 4 years in the NFL and hasn't showed any inkling of great.   You don't see many WR's go from his type of production for 4 seasons to stacking up "great" seasons.

Coleman, on the other hand, showed flashes of big play ability until his terrible finish down the stretch.   19.2 yards per catch and 18.8 yards per target.   Ideally, for the Bills(and Beane's draft hit/miss ratio) Coleman elevates to being the top boundary WR for the Bills this season.
