I don’t get why people are writing him off like he is gonna be lucky to make this team. Cleveland put a tender on him that guaranteed him 3.4 million this year so he will likely make more or close to that in guaranteed money.

He is an equivalent player to John brown and Cole Beasley when they joined the bills

here are the starts for all 3 for the 4 years prior to joining the bills:

Moore-  joined bill at age 25

  200 catches 2162 yards 9tds

Beasley- joined bills at age 30

  228 catches 2355 yards 17 tds

Brown- joined bills at age 29

  167 catches 2534 yards 17 tds

Moore is just getting to his prime while brown and Beasley put up similar numbers during their prime

Good post.

My only question is "Why in the ***** does he even know who these clowns are or what they're saying?"

Maybe it wasn't "these clowns" but "all of the clowns" (including TBD and points beyond). Can't imagine Beane is a a tortoise in a shell, my guess is he was genuinely incredulous or taken aback by criticism of a draft he was very happy with. With that said, not a great look for a GM.

At worst, an awesome depth signing.  If Shakir goes down, Moore can play the slot.  If Samuel goes down, he can play that role as well.  Kinda reminds a bit of J Brown.  Not a super tall guy, but someone who get downfield when he needs to.

I like the signing.

(The worst part of the Beane radio interview was the fact that he kind of blamed Josh’s contract………. meanwhile, Josh thinks he did the Bills a favor. That’s a bit of a disconnect and that’s a bit tricky.)

Elijah Moore stats in 2025-25:

54 rec. 678 yards and 5 TDs.

Are you okay with that?

Yes that would be great. That would put him at 2nd in catches and yards and first in tds on our team based on the wr stats for bills in 2024

Yes.  What if we get 6-7 of our guys those same stats?

Moore

Palmer

Shakir

Coleman

Kincaid

Can all hit that easy.

I like the signing.  Here is my main question.  How will Brady and the Bills utilize Moore?

He is a small fast receiver, who primarily been used underneath.  His career yards per catch is only 10.8 yards.  Basically he is a younger, smaller Curtis Samuel who is already a Bill.

My hope is the Bills do something very un-Bills like and use his speed to to help take the cover off the defense opening up room for Kincaid, Palmer and others, while also giving him a few opportunities a game to make a big play downfield.   I hope they try it with Samuel as well.

So we have 6 receivers on the roster all 6’ 1” or under.  In fact we only have two receivers over 6’ 1” and that Shavers and the 7th round rookie.  This is going to be fun to watch…aim small miss small Josh.

Keon Coleman shrunk?

I asked earlier in the WR thread and earlier in this thread, how would the Beane critics feel if Coleman, Kincaid, Palmer and Shakir all had 800 yards next season.  Would that still be the worst WR group in the NFL?

Man, remember those teams when it was like Week 12?
We were usually 5-7 and still mathematically alive….but the dudes they had to trot out onto the field when the starter got injured were just so bad.

So true. We’d be like, “maybe Naaman Roosevelt will be able to step right in?!”

One player on this team had that many catches last season, one had that many yards, and none had that many TDs.  That would be a brilliant signing if Moore were to post a stat line like that.

He’s right though. If you are going to pay Josh and Shakir and Benford and Bernard and Oliver and Dawkins etc it can limit what else you can add. It’s why the Niners had to trade Deebo Samuel and gut their roster, becuase they have pay the QB. It’s why the Chiefs had to trade Tyreek Hill and lose free agents every year. I didn’t take it as blaming Josh’s contract really. He’s saying you can’t have everything when you are paying a qb the way they are, and he is right.

On 97 targets?  That's terrible efficiency.

Our most receptions last year was Shakir with 76. Next highest was Kincaid at 44... There's no way Moore is getting more than 80. First he has to make the team.

Make the team?  Do you just rattle off frivolous , silly comments like that?. On a one year hometown deal with an opportunity to ride the greatness of Josh to a multi year deal somewhere, he’s the vertical threat on the team with experience and great motivation. He’s making the team. To me, he’s a better option than Coleman with more speed and separation. Josh spreads it around( everyone eats mentality) so Shakir will get his but I easily see Moore getting 41/2 to 5 receptions average.

To some yes.  They are too into fantasy football.  What if all 5 (inc Moore) had those stats?  Then add in what RB's, Knox etal also do.
