Fitz' football IQ and accuracy were excellent...he just didn't have the arm to make the throws his brain wanted him to make. He was a gunslinger toting a pop gun...still one of my favorite drought-era Bills of all time. This selection is absolutely perfect for Sunday night... Expand Yep, that gunslinger mentality often got in the way of his football intellect, which was actually off the charts. He was seldom fooled by anything a defense did. I recall one of his early games with us against the Ravens and I’d never seen anyone move Ed Reed with his eyes the way Fitz did that day. Reed, perhaps the smartest safety in history, alluded to Fitz’s ability in that regard as well after that game. But again, that gunslinger mind set too often got to him. You just can’t triple hitch a long out from the far hash and expect it to get there on time. 3 Quote

I remember Fitz throwing the nastiest lead blocks on running plays I have ever seen a QB throw. He seemed like the ultimate team player and I think he's deserving of being honored. Expand Just the way he has embaraced the Bills Mafia won me over as a big fan. That NE playoff game where he went shirtless is what really won me over Edited January 14 by ddaryl 4 1 Quote
